1. Ruminating about something, trying to let it go because if I don't then the person who did this to me was "successful" at disturbing me. If I don't then my power over my emotions is given away. Looking into safe ways to keep myself safe and let out my internal reactions while minimizing my external reactions. Think I will use caffeine again tomorrow, and that's okay though I know what it could do to me. Sometimes I have to pick the lesser of the two evils to get through each day. For this midnight hour, might try to let myself feel until it's not as intense. Might be up for a while
2. The smile at the end of Hitchcock's Psycho. It's so exaggerated yet creepy to me and led me down a rabbit hole search of what makes some smiles creepy and not others. There are other horrors, dramas & musicals that have given me goosebumps too.
3. Oh man, feel I'm gonna be judged for my answers here. Plain 90% dark chocolate. Anything under 70% is now too sweet. I'll eat 70% with mix-ins but plain 90% is my fave, so intense and fruity. Tofu, not sure if that's odd. Baby carrots. Been converted to a natural chunky almond / peanut butter fan - I think most people like smooth? I don't mind stirring the natural stuff. Unsweetened pumpkin seed butter (smooth, fyi) is growing on me, same with nutritional yeast. Nutritional yeast is very, very weird even to me as someone eating it. Less sweet & less salty foods in general
@Lexloveslife Hi there my friend! I know what it's like to ruminate. I do that constantly, it seems like. I liked your idea on staying up and just feeling without any judgement. Don't give that person any power over you- They are nowhere near worth it. What does caffiene do to you if you don't mind me asking? Creepy, exaggerated smiles, espcially those of serial killers, always give me goosebumps. Wow, you sure do like some pretty interesting foods! Nutritional yeast is the one that caught my eye the most! Thank you for sharing this with me and I hope you are well tonight!
@PeppermintStar0912
I don't mind you asking :) caffeine leads to a pretty bad crash for me... heightened anxiety, significantly worsened depression to the point where I need a hotline, overall fatigue - staying sedentary for me is very bad for my depression
I'm having a hard time being cooped up in the house all day because of Covid. I find it hard to focus and concentrate on anything and feel like I'm getting more depressed the longer I have to stay home. I know I'm not alone in this, does anyone have any suggestions for keeping up positivity and mental health during all this? I'm in an area where we're not supposed to leave our house unless it's necessary. I know there are things I can be doing, and I want to help if I can. I just can't seem to think clearly and maintain focus for long enough to actually do anything. Thanks all.
@crimsonSpruce612 its the same in the UK right now have you got any hobbies that help watch movies youtube alot of creators are uploading more now to entertain everyone maybe take up something new you can do at home etc
@CaringBrit Thanks Brit. I do have hobbies but it's hard to focus on them when I feel depressed. But anyway I feel better today so I guess it's just a day by day thing. Thanks, I hope things are going alright in the UK.
@crimsonSpruce612 Hi there my friend. I know so many people are going through not really knowing what to do inside their house all day! Many people are not used to isolation. I've been reading, writing, listening to classical music, taking classes online, and walking around my house to get my steps in! It's not much, but it's really been helping me. I hope you and your family are safe tonight.

1. Is there anything bothering you or making you feel anxious today?
I'm worried that I've forgotten some recent events without noticing. But I just can't tell.
2. What scene in a movie always gives you goosebumps every time you watch it?
The stampede from The Lion King.
3. What food do you love that most people might find a little odd?
Mix some flour, oil, salt and paprika powder together and you've got the best cheese in the world. Also I love red beetroots, mushrooms and those long green beanstalks.
@Soe22
Mushrooms are so good too
@Soe22 Hi there my friend. I'm sorry to hear about what you are worried about. It would worry me too if I felt as though I've forgotten some recent events and not really noticed. Oh my gosh- Now that you brought that scene up, from The Lion King, that gave me the chills too when I used to watch it. Wow, all the food you mentioned sounds delicious! Thank you for checking in with me. Have a lovely night.

1. Is there anything bothering you or making you feel anxious today?
I feel like I messed up big-time. A few months ago my current boyfriend asked me to go out with him and I said yes because he's cool, sweet, caring, and he knew me better than most. I knew he liked me for my personality, not popularity at school or success in athletics or anything like that. I said yes because I was hoping somehow I could make it work (and I didn't want to hurt his feelings). But there's someone else I've known for 3 years and have been trying so hard to stop having feelings for. My friends and family told me several times "He's not someone you need, he thinks way too much of himself, and you won't be happy together. It won't work." But every time we spent time together, we both ended up having a great time. Either way, everyone approved of my boyfriend, mostly because of his looks and happy personality. But now, I can't help but feel guilty because it's not fair to my boyfriend that I have feelings for someone else. I would never cheat, but isn't it already cheating in a way? I just wish the whole thing wasn't so complicated!
2. What scene in a movie always gives you goosebumps every time you watch it?
There's this movie, Breakthrough, about an 8th grader, John Smith, who fell through the ice and stayed under water for 15 minutes. He was pronounced dead until his mom came to the hospital, and she was crying, and praying, and he got a pulse. Towards the end, there's the scene where John is still in a sleep-induced coma hooked up to all of those machines...and it's the night before the doctors are supposed to take him off all medication and wake him up. John's school and the entire church comes to the hospital window, singing "Oceans" by Taylor Mosby and praying for him. Then the camera shows John in his bed, and there's a single tear running down his face.
3. What food do you love that most people might find a little odd?
Mussels! They look gross until you actually try them, but most people think it's weird.
@Emirson2018 Hi there my friend. It seems like you are in quite the pickle if I can be honest with you! From what I can hear out of the message you wrote is that you said yes to your boyfriend because you didn't want to hurt his feelings. That is wonderful that you like him and it's great that he respects you but I mean if your feelings aren't really there then they aren't really there and maybe you need to question if you should move further or not. You are right- This is very complicated! Oh my gosh your description of Breakthrough made me tear up! I've never been brave enough to try a mussel so I admire you for having the courage to eat them. Thank you for checking in with me. Have a lovely night and I hope you and your family are safe.
Being stuck inside with family is driving me crazy. I rather be a Guinean pig than deal with my negative uncle. I'm trying but my uncle is super negative and twists everything we said and is really trigger my depression so bad that I have very dark thoughts
Psycho gives me goosebumps, the orginial
I'm not sure about the food
@Rebekahwriter13 Hi there my friend. I'm so sorry for what you are going through right now. It's really hard for so many to be stuck inside. These are really trying times for us right now. I can totally understand why you don't want to be around your uncle. My brother is the exact same way and it's extremely hard for me to be around him. Negativity just sucks the life out of everyone and everything and I try to stay as far away from it as possible. I hope you feel better soon. Psycho also give me the goodbumps! Thank you for checking in with me. Have a lovely day and I hope you and your family are safe.
1. Is there anything bothering you or making you feel anxious today?
Being stuck in the house because of COVID-19, my PTSD is really not liking it.
2. What scene in a movie always gives you goosebumps every time you watch it?
Coralina, when the needle hand comes out from under the door. I love that movie and I think it's because it's the scene that makes you go "Crap, she's out".
3. What food do you love that most people might find a little odd?
Eating plain buttered noodles, granted I don't have very weird food preferences but this one tends to get a few people to think about it a bit before saying okay.
@RainbowGhosty Hi there my friend. I'm sorry that your PTSD is bothering you. It's hard for so many people to be stuck inside their house. These are really tough times we are going through right now. I hope you feel better soon. I've never seen that movie but I'm glad that you love it! Oh my gosh, I thought I was the only one who ate plain noodles and butter! My husband thinks it's the weirdest thing ever but it's so good! Thank you for checking in with me. Have a lovely night.
@PeppermintStar0912
Thank you :) I am starting to feel better actually so I hope I can make it stick around. It seems to have autocorrected, the movie is Coraline if you wanted to check it out. Yes! Especially with a little bit of cheese sometimes. I hope you do too 😊
