Traumatic Experiences Community Daily Check-In Friday July 13th 2018
Good Morning one and alle!
Happy Friday the 13th. oooOOOOOOooooh spooky
Well, unless it's the year 1036 and your a Templar Knight in France I don't think theres much to worry on with this superstition.
It is fun to endulge in the different superstitions we learn along the way. Some have deep cultural meaning, many are from ignorance, and some are just for fun. Today I thought it would be fun and interesting if we shared a few superstitions with each other, and maybe learn something.
A Tradition/Superstition from my culture that goes back to the dawn of time long before the Viking era comes from the fog. In northern countries fog can come so thick it has form. My people believe we see things in the myst. For to not startle each other, as well as to allow each other time to decide if what we see is real, we stand still until we can be identified proper. To this day if one is going to anothers house, we stand still outside the gate until we are invited in so to be polite and allow our friends to decide if we are real. I totally feel weird walking up to peoples door and ringing the bell as is done here.
What are some superstitions you know and perhaps follow and why? Drop us a line and let us know, or just say Hej. This is a safe place to practice and use your voice and it's alle yours, Welcome.

Ofcourse I realize I just phosted this right after coming back in from singing a song to make the sun rise lol
@Raveninthelabrynth LOL
@Raveninthelabrynth
I don't think I can come up with anything superstition I believe in. I would not call it superstition then, but faith, lol
My kids dad, he had some ideas about the kids that he believed in so strongly.
When I was pregnant I could not be in a room with more than 3 other pregnant women, that was bad luck and could damage the baby.
He also believed that when I graved some specific food it was important that I ate it as soon as possible. This was my favorite. I would send him out to get quaterpounders from McDonald in the middle of the night, lol
There was some blue powdered stuff that I needed to put on their heads, just a tiny bit, to protect them from the evil eye.
And I was not allowed to cut their hair. Because it would make them less smart.
Neither of these was something I believed but it was not so hard to just go along with and keep him happy.
@Raveninthelabrynth
Wow that is so cool!! And that makes total sense. What do you do (since you don't ring a doorbell or knock) if the person whose house you are at doesn't see you or know you are there?
I use certain crystals for certain purposes, and I think that could be considered a superstition. For example I have this citrine necklace, and it seems as though every time I wear it, good fortune in the form of money comes my way. It worked very well in California. I am not sure that it works in South Carolina lol. I also had a black onyx ring that I used to wear when I went anywhere that I felt I would need extra spiritual or empathic protection for my energy field, and I felt that it worked! Until one day it fell off on the floor and broke, which I considered an omen that I wouldn't need it anymore.
And also, hey everyone. I have had a lot of anxiety yesterday and today which is frustrating me, because I had gone a long period (about a month -- since my shamanic healing) without really having much. My therapist is pushing me hard, and I know it's good for me. I had a face to face talk with her this week (usually we are mostly texting) and we got on the same page. But often she pushes me so hard! And it causes me so much anxiety because she will suggest one thing, and then she will say "you aren't going to like me saying this, but you don't have to do that, it doesn't matter if you do that, etc". I know that she is trying to support me thinking for myself, because I grew up learning to follow rules and to take other peoples' opinions and advice and that things were very black and white, right or wrong. So that is what feels so terrifying and scary -- it feels terrifying that it feels like there is no right thing for me to do, and that the responsibility for my choices is all on me. So I can't blame her for that. I KNOW for a fact that she cares about me and wishes to support me -- I can tell by her manner when we speak face to face. So now it's a matter of... do I trust her that she has the capability to help me, and that her methods are helping me? It's hard to say when I feel increased anxiety after her message to me... however... anxiety does not necessarily mean that something is bad or that one should not do something. She has given me several tools to help with anxiety (particularly tapping and meditation), so I can certainly practice those.
So that's where I'm at. I will probably write a bit more about it in my diary later if anyone wants to pop over. Right now I need more coffee. Lol.
xo
- Singer (because I have been doing a lot of singing lately
)
@singercrystalspirit Coffee again!? (hides) lol
Well bak home one would just stand there no matter how long it too. Here texting m here works lol
@Raveninthelabrynth
Lol lol I put that bit about the coffee in just for you.
Wow! See I think that is really cool. Sometimes I want a life like that again, you know, where you tell someone you'll meet them at 5pm tomorrow and you just show up trusting that they'll be there (before cell phones). Haha but texting works too!
@singercrystalspirit
Coffee is amazing 😃
@KLM3278
Mmmmhmmmmm! However, I think it
@singercrystalspirit
It does do that yes 😬❤️
Hi Raven
Thank you for making the sun rise! :)
I believe in friday the 13th
so I'm being careful today! Everyone thinks I'm being silly but oh well! My mum has always told me off for being supersticious, she thinks it is blasphemous, even though she believes in miracles which I think is a type of superstition.
I semi-believe in ghosts, especially when the tv turns on at night when there is no one else around, and nothing is pressing the remote!
Love and hugs
@FloweringBunny Your Welcome Bunny
No hon no belief is stupid, we are free to believe as we so wish.
@FloweringBunny
Oh bunny. That sounds scary. Hug, if you want one. I agree, you can believe whatever you want. But maybe some time you won't feel the same about today as you do now. I think sometimes scary things can take a werid hold of us because of trauma. Maybe I'm wrong though? But I've noticed the further I get on my healing journey, the less darkness, and scary things have a hold on me. I wonder why? Do you feel this way to sometimes? ❤️
@KLM3278 Yes, I hope that I will get to the point where I'm not superstitious about today, I do think that trauma plays a part, it has always seemed like bad things happen on Friday 13th but nothing happened today so maybe things can change.
Not really superstitious. Just wanted to check in today. Need a little extra support if possible.
@RedHawk6547
What's going on? ❤️
@KLM3278
Had to talk with my ex today. It was not a healthy relationship so I try and text him as much as possible. Today it was a face to face conversation. Thank you for replying. ❤
@RedHawk6547
Oh I'm so sorry. Did it go badly? ❤️❤️
@KLM3278
He is usually hostile or gives me the silent treatment. Ypu can just feel the tension and I hate that for her.
@RedHawk6547
Oh I'm so sorry. That must be so hard. I'm glad you can come on here and feel loved!!!
