Traumatic Experiences Community Daily Check In Wednesday 25th October 2017
Hello and Good Moring all.
DeborahUK has some errands to run today and asked me to cover for her today. She should be back either later on or tomorrow, no worries.
I would also like to take a quick moment and apologise to anyone whom tried to attend the support session on Monday and couldn't get in. Amandisa and I couldn't find the person with the keys. We're terribly sorry for that. Theres been some changes going on lately but I'll leave that to others to discuss.
The one most important thing to me right now is "Time Management". Often we have so many things going on we can fall behind or get overwhelmed by too much going on. The one way out of this is to prioritize everything, set ourselves a firm shedule and keep to it. To do this we use Daily Planners, Notebooks, Calanders, The Calanders on our computers and phones, etc. How do you prioritize, keep track of, and manage your time to keep things running smooth?
I wish everyone peace and happiness today.
So how are you? What busy things do you have going on today, and how do you prioritize your tasks?
The World is Yours, this is a safe place, please feel welcome to use it.

Just checking in today. I Saw the surgeon yesterday and do indeed have to have an endoscopy as well as a colonoscopy. Feeling nervous about those, but aside from that, I am doing ok.

Keep us posted, okay?
Wow - I am actually super crammed busy this week. Which is good - keeps me out of trouble - XD.
Thankfully it is nearing the end of the week.
But today is mostly fun things: putting up Halloween decorations, meditation ( to keep a positive mindset and focus - and peace of mind), buying the BEST shampoo I have Ever found for curly hair - ever, going to a meeting, cleaning my house, cleaning / organizing my bedroom, 7 cups time, meeting up with an old therapist for some resources, putting some fun stuff away from an easrlier retail therapy shopping trip ( lol) and trying, trying, to get to bed early for a 9 am phone assesment I have with FINALLLY - finding a center that offers php/iop/inpatent and therapy! And yassssssss - mey my deductatbel.
Tomorrow is not only the phone assesment ( hour and a half or Longer - good , get it ALL out with ALL honesty and Truth so I can getthe help I want and need) but a job I picked up at the last minute...and of course - awesome reikie <3 To which I always feel Amazing that day and the next but crash after that when I have to deal with the emotional aftermath alone - but this time - I will be utalizing my meditation and mnatras to help self sooth.
And Thus starts the weekened, and I am hoping, also starting therapy/php....or at least knowing the date of starting :D....and if not, work as usual.
Alsdo trying to stay NOT triggered at all on purpose this week and weekend because I am weaning off amphetamines ( dr. orders - ugh) and that in itself - is going to be so so very hard and trying.
@blissedNblessed Hey Hon, glad to hear everything lined up proper and you will be getting help.
Comming off any medication can be rough, just keep busy and focussed. You're gonna be just fine hon.
@Raveninthelabrynth
Thanks.
Turned out he wanted me to switch down to a lower dose after a depressive episode and i forgot - whoops-
no wonder I have been a MESS!
XD!
Hey everyone, I have a class now, so I wont be able to respond right away. I will be home in about 2-2 1/2 hours and I will reply to all when I return.
Hey,
Its been an average day for me. I saw my therapist with whom I was able to share some stuff I needed to get off my chest. She helped me feel like I was normal for feeling the way I do under the circumstances. Sometimes I think theres something fundamentally wrong with me but I know that a lot of my fears and anxieties are related to my childhood traumas. Im learning that as much as I want to, I can try avoid them but they ll always catch up with me somehow. I know what myissues are, its just I dont know how to fix them... and some days I feel like I will never be able to fix them, that Ill just go through life always being anxious and afraid.
@WaterLily16 It sounds like your doing pretty well.
Yes, it is true that nothing can undo what has been done. Understanding our trauma, and learning everything that may trigger us so we can avoid or sometimes heal them is pretty much the idea. Working with our Therapists is the best thing we can do.
We're not broken. We're just folks whom been through some really heavy stuff, and have to live mindfully of our individual particulars. Sometimes we have our episodes sure, but we learn to work them out and live with them. The more we work, the more we gain ground in this fight. Eventually we can conquer much of it.
Keep working on your particulars hon, I'm proud of you for continuing to try.
I hope everyone is doing well. For me, time management involves learning to develop strong boundaries. I am cutting ties with many people if need be because they just drain my energy which effects my time management, and focus. I am healing after a negative experience over the weekend when a person I was close to, at least thought I was confirmed they were just manipulating me over the years. The trauma, anger and frusteration has left me feeling lost, sad, and confused. I feel like my life was stolen from me for greed, personal gain. I apologize if this is offensive, I don't know who or where else to share this right now :(
@philosophicalShip9444 (((HUGE HUGS))) I'm sorry you went through this hon. It is fine you expressed yourself here, if you feel you need support on this please feel free to pm me or any of the Listeners and Therapists here. We're alle here to help. :)
Time management had always been an issue for me. One problem that I have is that I easily get distracted and lose track of time. Another problem is that I often don't remember what I am needing to do for the day.
I have found that using a good timer helps me to set time limits for things so that I don't get too distracted and not remember to do other things. So if i am painting, I set a timer for say an hour...that way I can paint awhile and move on to something else that needs to be done.
Along with the timer there is the daily to do list that covers all of my needs and responsibilities for the day. I find a schedule of times helps me to make sure I have time for everything. The to do lists I write out and keep them on the table. I find this is better for me than using electronics for this. I can see it on the table without having to open an app, therefore I remember it.
The other thing that helps me is to not put off doing things. I try to get things done as early in the day as I can. I find that if I put them off until later I have a harder time getting them done.
The last but very important thing for me is having someone I have to be accountable to at the end of the day. I give them my list and they check to make sure all of the important things were done for the day. This helps me to make sure that I make time for everything and not just decide not to do it.
@TeenyTinyAppy That is Fantastic Teeny! I really like how you manage your time.
I too like to have things physically written down. As you pointed out, an app must be opened and looked at, b ut my planner is there to be seen imediately. Also, electronics are subject to power loss.
I'm proud of you for recognizing your time management issues, and finding a way to keep yourself on track. Truly Great work!
I just decided I could organise my life better electronically. But finding the right app to do this is so annoying it makes me want to learn how to program. But too many lists are bad for my stress levels so I need to find something simple. Doing my best.
There is either so much to do that my head explodes. Or nothing and no one and I am so lonely. Never just a balance haha
@Kuma0187 "Cause I'm in too deep and I'm tryin to keep up above in my head instead of going under!" lol
Hugs hon. Breathe free and deeply. Enjoy the world.
@Raveninthelabrynth
Thanks haha
Not feeling so well tonight.Triggered out of the blue by God knows what. Trying to soothe and manage and regulate and do all the things to stave and it's just not working on my own. 😢
