Hej alle! It's a beautiful morning here, peaceful and quiet.This morning my mind is quite busy. There is always much going on in our lives, and it can be dizzying. I havn't always been so fortunate to live in such a beautiful place, but I always carried it's dream.
We have discussed our secret special places where we can retreat to, but what can we do when we can't physically go there?
Many of us carry objects with to help us keep grounded and calm. For me I seek the grace of little things. A warm wind, the Sun on my face, a bird soaring in the sky. for me there is no set thing, but a world of beauty I have learned to see through my pain, fear, and confussion. When I am somewhere I can't see these things I can always dwell there in my mind.
So what do you do to find a moment of peace when you can't go to your special place?

Hi raven. Today is a good day. I managed to get a good block of sleep so feeling refreshed and energized. This community is one of my safe spaces when I physically can't get out. The love and care and support here just is amazing and helps me to feel like I belong. Another safe space is when im at work. I am able to push past (most of the time) my own woes to help the residents. I never really thought about it before but everytime I care for them. Have a conversation even if it makes no sense or just offer them comfort I feel like my worth is cemented a little bit more. In saying that I don't yet have the ability to keep that once I leave work. But just the concept of caring for another helps me feel enlightened..

Music is usually my comfort. I find different worlds, different people and many ideas and interesting view points through it.

Hi CartoonDarling 😁 yes music can be a great comfort. Particularly when I was younger I would spend hours just "lost in music". It was a great comfort and escape for me, so soothing.

Sunlight refacting through a window lazily heating a room to that just right tempeture, softness anything soft I gravitate towards because it makes the world feels less sharp which is one to the reasons on potential bad days I spend hours on taking care of my body making it, warm music, music that makes me think of memories that are dyed in sepia tone and soft blankets. These make up my happy place.
