Color? I guess it would be gray. Day started out alright with cardio in the morning, but now I feel depressed on a Friday night with no reason...
@CaringBrit
How do I tell people and family that I have cancer after losing so many people to the same thing? How do I process this information I learned today?
@Havingfuninthesnow thats a very personal thing on how to tell someone especially with it being a tough topic too tell someone about and as i do not know you best i cant answer that if it was me id just tell them but that might not be right for you
@CaringBrit
They aren't supportive of all my other issues now. Why would they even care? Maybe I should just run away.
@CaringBrit hi
@crimsonLime6525 heyy lime how are you today
@crimsonLime6525 Hi Lime
@Kate hi
@CaringBrit
Today I'm blue. It's been a really rough day.
@RedHawk6547
hugs
@RedHawk6547 aww red sorry to hear its been a really rough day if youd like to share what made it rough id love to listen
@CaringBrit
I'm not sure how to explain it. I let my trauma issues affect my daughter. She has some of the same trust and anxiety issues that I do. I've messed her up and I don't know how to fix it.
@RedHawk6547
I've been told that kids can be a lot more resilient than we realize. You sound like a really caring and conscientious parent, and that says a lot. Even if some bad things have happened, i think the good things are what really matters. Like, for me, i think i could have handled what happened to me more healthily if i had had some support from my parents, or remorse, or attempts to make things different. Just... and signs of caring at all. Instead i had to fill in the blanks myself and use unhelpful coping skills to parent myself.
I relate to the fears of our traumas affecting our kids. I think even the smallest things you might do for your kids, especially communicating and keep trying, will help. If you see signs of them struggling, it doesn't mean it's unfixable, just a hurdle to make them stronger. For all we know, the special ways we raise them after our traumas will end up making them stronger and have more empathy for others. Keep going and doing what you can. You're probably doing better than you realize.
@CaringBrit
Tried calling the crisis center and that was hopeless. Maybe there is no hope for me.
@Havingfuninthesnow
I
@Havingfuninthesnow i agree with pioneering what they said theirs always hope if theirs a different crisis centre you could try them instead or it could have been the person on the other end wasnt too great
its like on here for example members wont click with every listener there may be some that isnt right for them and thats ok just try again til you find the right one
it can be disheartening for sure though trying to find the right listener on the other end wether a crisis centre or a listener
I am a bit late but will have to go back and look at the first couple topics in this series. Then I'll come back to this one.
At the moment I'm disturbed at myself for the relief and comfort i seem to get by saying mean things to myself. Wtf.
@SentientiaPoecile take all the time you need to check my other topics ive done 3 i think on ACT and some others before that
aww is there a reason why you take comfort in being mean to yourself
@CaringBrit
Was thinking about that too. I think because it's familiar, something that makes me feel parented. Ugh. I don't get it though, it's not as if getting talked to that way made me feel good as a kid. Maybe it's also a way to feel like I'm solving problems... "Oh, i messed up, therefore i need to be shamed, problem solved." Writing it out makes it feel so messed up.
I don't mind describing my mood with numbers, colors or words.
@Rebekahwriter13 what colour are you today
@CaringBrit
Currently I'm the type reflective color in which at angle I'm yellow and green for hope another angle I'm blue and black like hidden emotions
@Rebekahwriter13
That's a neat way to explain it.
@SentientiaPoecile it's was my brothers old hair dye that made me think of it. It's called blue-black.
