Traumatic Experiences Community Daily Check-in Tuesday 14th August 2018
Hello lovely trauma family
Thought we would begin with that lovable bear Winnie the Pooh....." I don't feel very much like Pooh today, " said Pooh. "There, there," said Piglet. "I'll bring you tea and honey till you do."
You know how a song plays over and over in your head, for whatever reason, and maybe its significant, or maybe you just like it. This week its been a very old hymn, in fact it was written by Priscilla Owens in 1882 . Will your anchor hold in the storms of life When the clouds unfold their wings of strife? When the strong tides lift and the cables strain Will your anchor drift or firm remain?
We've been weathering a stormy and stressful time here of late, and this reminded me of how we need an anchor, something to hold on to in the midst of it all. What anchors us when it gets very stressful? When we notice the signals of stress and tension, do we know how to anchor ourselves, know what is going to regain some balance for us.
How is your day going? What would you say anchors you when its stressful? What do you think could be helpful? Or pop in to say hi! You're welcome here.This is your space and a safe place. x
thank you all for the kind words and support
and i'm sorry to hear things aren't going well
I miss ice cream...
Thanks for giving me my voice and courage
I found Rain's post. :(
All I can say is that's disturbing.
Thank you everyone for your honesty, including Kite!
I dont write very much at the minute but wanted to send a safe gentle hug to you all ❤️❤️❤️
This is just a reminder to you all that whilst times here are tough right now with a lot of uncertainty, everyone who is part of this trauma family can support each other through the darkness.
We all care about each other and how we feel, lets support one another best we can until everything settles down a little.
This is still our safe place and we belong together

Nope, can't do today. Not at all.
I'm sorry to hear so many people hurting today. I wish there was something I could do.
@practicalIdeal2007
Just glad you are here with us today. And we appreciate your concern thank you.
Sometimes words just aren't there and that's ok.. felt like this myself this morning too. x

You scare me @Laura. I don't trust you one bit. I can't work with you. I am sorry but I have had my share of cruel people pretending to be good.
@rozie
This community is my anchor
and I hope it'll always be here for us to come together when everything else goes wrong...
I didn't know what support was and how important it is before I came. I started to see as well as accept that genuine support is kind and without hidden ulterior intentions.
I wish I can become the same kind of anchor to those I come across.
I wish I can let everyone who is, and has been, here know that, but I'm not sure if I'm not expressing my gratitude and appreciation well enough...
Thank you all for your support

Hi Bieng,
What a wonderful expression of appreciation, it is very much appreciated and valued by the whole team. The things you mention, this is why we are here, this is what we want to provide.
As for you becoming and anchor, paying that support forward, there are some great tips on todays (15.8) check in and this forum is always in need of some extra support if you feel like you have some extra to give. Thats the strength of this family, members, listeners and team members supporting and talking as equals and sometimes with changing roles.
