Traumatic Experiences Community Daily Check-in Tuesday 5th June 2018
Hello lovely Trauma family
Its getting late for this, so its going to be short and simple today... I read this recently and wanted to share it with you.
When you see something beautiful in someone,
tell them.
It may take a second for you to say it,
but for them, it could last a life time.
So often we've heard the negatives, and so have many others. So lets speak the positives, you never know what it may mean to someone.
How is your day going Do you remember a time when someone spoke into your life in with positive and significant words? Or pop in to say hi! You are wecome here. This is your space and a safe place.x
@rozie
Hi! I had the most amazing thing happen to me tonight.
33 years ago, I was 14, I was homeless and one day I got into serious trouble with some people. They were chasing me and I was running for my life. I ran through grand Central Station towards the water. At that time there were still house boats there. So I ran behind the station and I jumped on one of the boats. There was a lady there that pulled me inside and closed the door. They were having a party with a band. So I just joined them. That night this lady saved my life. I learned that she was American and travelled with the band.
Tonight I ran into her when I was in town. She was visiting from the States. It is really unbelievable that we recognized one another! We both remembered that night so well, it was really awesome! We are going to meet up tomorrow night and chat. I am so excited!
So I did tell her that she was my hero
@MaschaV
Omg that
@BeeLeigh
I know!! I am so excited!!
It came at the right time. I was feeling pretty downcast and I was actually doubting myself and some of my memories. Had seen my therapist and mentor today and they both were trying to get through to me about my healing process. That it will take years and not months and that I need to stop pretending that it was not a big deal.
But I am all happy now
@MaschaV
Oh that is amazing.. I'm so happy for you. Its come just at the right time too, Enjoy being with her.! x
@rozie
I'll come back tomorrow and share how it was.
@MaschaV
That is utterly amazing!!! What a blessing and what a very very very cool thing!! Praise God!! So happy for you !!!!! 😃

@MaschaV

@DeborahUK
I do actually
@rozie
Im sure there has been things good said to me. I can only seem to remember the bad.
@honestLand773
Just look at your badges and awards - kindness, compassion, honest, strong, appreciated.
Theres acknowledgement and validation, but we often dont notice it because we dont believe it applies to us. Heres the thing, it does apply to you. So try to learn to accept it, to believe it, and to enjoy it.
@honestLand773
Yes I understand what you are saying here. Sadly this is how we are affected by tthe negatives we hear. It shuts out the positives. And often the inner critic reminds us of all the bad things too. Its only gradually as there is positive input from others and we get better at shutting the critic up, that we start to hear the positive,. The positives that are so necessary for our healing and finding our true self. its little by little. x
@honestLand773
Can I start by saying you are amazing? You are brave and you are stronger than you know.
If you remember a bad thing that was said, you cancel it and tell yourself the opposite so these words loose their power over you.
You don't have to accept everything people say to you.
Words have power. You have words, use them wisely.
And yes, I am preaching to myself too. I know this but practice it too little.
Anyways, you are amazing, you are brave and you are stronger than you know! <3
@MaschaV
But the bad stuff is true.
@rozie
You my dear Rozie, are such a kind and generous soul. You always have a soothing word, and can somehow provide calm and reassurance amongst the rockiest of times. I speak as a member who has experienced your kindness first hand, and as a listener who always reads your posts and finds comfort and wisdom in them. ❤️
@rozie
telling someone means saying rozie you are a beautiful person, caring and wise. thanks for all you do for trauma peoples including me. here youhave part of our heart
i crave kindness words cos they havent been many and i dont know how to hodl on to those i get. too rare and unusual to know what to do with them.crrave them but don't believe them is messed up right
bad nightmares last night and thenwith stupid body memories so unsettled and been rapid switching a lot i hate sleep
@Sparky1
Oh thank you Sparky. That you are craving those words of kindness suggests you are ready to hear them, and to begin with it may be hard to hold on to them. But slowly as you listen, they will begin to sink in, and then you begin to believe them.
Iappreciate your kindness today.. it touched my heart.x
I wake up to get yelled at my land lady. I really need a better place to live.
@Rebekahwriter13
That doesn't sound very fun. I'm sorry. I hope you are okay!!!!
@KLM3278
Im not doing well. . . My energy is easily drained and in stuck and depressed.
How can people,still hurt you when they are dead?
I have had so many positives here and the support has been great.
I have never had a long term listener but thats most my fault because I have often found it very hard to open up and when I do open up, I often cant face chatting to that person again.
But I have been able to share here and on this forum and I think thats a huge step for me.
I'm growing and healing, and im poaitive lice is going to get better but I need to refocus things and leave here again.
I need to be confident in my own ability to be self compassionate as through my journey ive become more knowledgeable and I think thats vital when coming to terms with how trauma has affected you and how to cope with it.
What im saying is, even though ive been active for a relatively short time despite when I joined, I think its time to leave.
I've a huge urge to beg a mod to delete my diary post but there are alot of positives there for me so im going to resist it :)
Anyway....im going to delete this account soon in order to try and re-shift my focus from the negatives that have happened to the positives that the future could hold.
Im wishing you all well and want to say a massive huge thanks to all who have supported me, your all amazing ❤

@indigoBeing9907
Haha im laughing at typos, I do think I can have a positive life though :)
I sincerely hope you do, you're amazing <3 ! Take care on your journey, and don't forget that falling is part of healing. If it ever becomes too much though, 7 Cups is always welcome to you! Much love and many hugs, I'm so glad I met you, thank you!! Good luck on your journey, you can do it!
XXXXX

Just stopping by to say hi, thats the best I can manage today
@crimsonLime6525
Than that is perfectly okay!
Hi! 😘
Hi Rozie
Everyone here is so wonderfully supportive and kind, I'm glad I found this place
I find positives quite hard, because one person will say something nice and then someone else will come along and say the opposite and I'm not sure who to believe. I find it doesn't help when "professionals" only say negative things and never find anything nice to say.
Love and hugs
Hi. My day is going good. I try and speak positives but it's hard when you can hardly talk with people even on here. The nicest thing said to me was that I was making a difference when I was working with kids. For some reason I can talk, laugh and am at ease with them. I guess it's because most of the time they don't want anything but someone to be there for them. I wish I was still working with them. Unfortunately for now my life has taken a different turn.
@RedHawk6547
HUG!! I love working with kids to!! I think you're right. They don't pass judgment usually. They just want to be loved abd play. I understand that feeling. ❤️
