I find focusing on my breathing only lets me hear my heartbeat, which always freaks me out.

@jtkretzschmar

why does that freak you out?

@SouthernFlame It feels like it is all I can hear, and it becomes overwhelming. Everything is just so loud.

@jtkretzschmar

sensory overload can definitely be overwhelming. Does wrapping yourself in a blanket help?

Sometimes I do deep breathing. Does that count?

I feel weird today. I felt really anxious earlier and I have been having more flashbacks completely within this evening they was What time when I didnt have any anxiety and I actually felt pretty good. Thats very unusual. It was very nice what lasted. Now I feel a little more interest. Its hard because they get these flashbacks and the stuff in my head and I dont really know what happened to me. Its a long time ago and I was very young so there are certain things that seem very familiar and then I think did happen but at the same time I dont really know what all happened. Which is sort of terrifying. Though I am fortune that the person who hurt me is not in my life anymore And hasnt been for a very long time. I still find Im struggling with this not really knowing what happened to me. Thats hard. Some of the times I just get hit with lots of anxiety or a flashback or whatever and it kind of comes out of nowhere. But The fact that I actually felt good for a little bit tonight, thats pretty amazing. So that part was good. I dont want to feel scared anymore. But Im not sure I know how to. Its been a while.

@pioneeringBanana1598

deep breathing definitely counts. Its great that you are away from the one who hurt you and you can have these positive moments. Heres hoping to many more, banana.
