Hello all! Happy Friday! I hope all is well and if it isn't something happens to make your day better!

How does this quote make you feel? What emotions or thought do you have after reading this?

What are some coping skills you can use when you feel, lost or broken, what makes you feel like things are going to be ok and that you are not broken?

What can the community do for you, how can we help you feel better if we can?

@InspiringLee

Today, I'm feeling... like I'm worse than I thought.

I'm wondering if I'm not really traumatized, but simply so highly empathetic that I'm identifying with the trauma community after coming here in the first place because a therapist told me to seek help for trauma ...

Who am I?

What if I have monstrous qualities that I am unaware of; have been hiding from, running from?

After all, the people who hurt us are merely people, too.

Is there really gold between my cracks? Can I ever stop this quest for self-improvement and simply be, as I am, with no more therapy, no more self development, no more life coaching, no more striving? Will I ever simply enjoy life as it is? Will I ever be good enough for myself? And how will I know once I am?

Oh my! It's like you've read my mind and said what's in it. You haven't though, have you? 😉

Maybe there's some comfort in that ...... for both of us. You're not alone thinking the way you do, and nor am I.

I guess it's part of the human condition, that we question our worth. But maybe more so when we've been hurt by others. Those negative messages become second nature don't they?

I had a crisis a few years back, one where I questioned my whole reason for being. I'm not sure I fully answered the question of why I'm here, but I figured even if I don't make a huge impact on millions of people, by being the second Mother Teresa for example, I can perhaps make a positive impact on a few. Because for those few, that's something big. You know yourself, when someone unexpectedly makes your day, it's a great boost. So maybe that should be enough. Why not eh?

Not hurting others. Respecting individuality. Promoting equality. Not judging. Being thoughtful. Having empathy. And you never know whose path you may cross, and how you may impact on them. Just being you, being here, you can make a positive difference.

Sorry, this has ended up being far more about me than about you. That's not what I intended, but maybe I'm the boy in this story, and you're the starfish. Perhaps you need to go in search of starfish too?

My gramma is on her way over because we're going to a picnic today for my work. I haven't worn makeup in a really long time, but I put a subtle lip color on and a little mascara. I think today can be a good day :)

@InspiringLee Beautiful quote indeed. I think of alle the things I have gone through both good and bad as part of what makes me whom I am.
