Weekly Check in - Trauma Support SubCom - 6 to 13 of September 2021

Therapists
Most therapists are highly compassionate people that chose this profession to help persons with emotional problems.
Others became therapists to delve into their own issues. Many are a combination of both.
As in any profession, there are amazing therapists, good ones, and lousy ones.
They play a very important role in our lives.
Questions:
-
What has been your experience with therapists, counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, etc ?
- How have you been these days ?
I look forward to your comments.
All the best !
Marcelo.

How have you been these days ?
I am so stressed because I have a course I have to success at it to continue my masters studies, and I have to choose a topic for the masters thesis but I don't have a time to do my researches because of the course, and I am still jobless and my money is about to be finished, and among all of that my younger sister yelled at me because her stupid things.
Dear Dina:
It's a shame that state health systems don't cover adequately emotional health.
There are some Psychology Faculties, postgraduate Psychology institutions, and Mental health hospitals that offer free therapy. Many are quite good. You might research whether there is something like this in your area.
I am sorry that you are in such a stressful situation regarding your studies. TBH, I remember my university years as, by far, the most stressful time in my life. Maybe the emotional trials you have to endure are part of what's valued in a graduate or postgraduate professional. A person that endured such a huge amount of stress and could advance in their studies anyway. Like elite military units are admired for their outstanding physical endurance.
Someday this ordeal will end (you can't imagine the relief it will bring). Until then, there is no other way but to grit your teeth and move forward. I suggest that you give absolute first priority to your sleep. You might also take natural nootropics like Gingko Biloba or Soy Lecithin when under high intellectual performance demand. A combination of both is a very potent cognitive enhancer.
Daily relaxation and stretching help, as we accumulate a lot of tension in our muscles, and this interferes with our overall performance and adds to our exhaustion.
I wish you start to feel better and all the luck in your studies. Remember that an eventual setback is never your fault, but a product of these inhumane circumstances.
All the best !
Marcelo.
There's been a few. First one was ok. Second and third not so good and treated like an experiment. The third one even referred to it as a learning experience for all of us. The guy now is pretty good. Patient and understanding. Knows that sometimes it take alittle while to actually show up and doesn't write it off if we're late. Tries to make sure we're ok when times up. Lately though I kind of dread going because I feel lousy afterwards sometimes for days. By the time it eases its time to go again 😕
Tbh - it feels like I can't ever really be honest with the whole how are you feeling question. So I started trying to keep it to myself
Thank you for doing a check in - stay awesome
@mytwistedsoul
That is bad when they view it as they are learning with you. I've been told almost the same thing frorm some. It's a big cue as to how unhelpful, unknowledgeable, unskilled, and what a waste of the time it will be with them.
Sorry it has been more rough lately after leavig therapy and for about the whole rest of the week. I'm glad he is good about seeing is you are okay before you leave.
It is very nice to see you posting. ![]()
@BlueBirdPIllow It does say alot about them. I'm sorry you've dealt with the same thing too
Thank you :) I know you right? I mean - we've talked before? You changed your name though and I can't remember what it was :( I'm sorry

I’ve only had a few therapist but only one was helpful. 2 were very hurtful. I just finished my 17 visit with one who suddenly stopped treating me Friday. I was at least glad to find out that my insurance is upset and filed a grievance against them on my behalf. They also asked me if I wanted to . I’m crushed by this. It took so much for me to ask for help after the disappointments. Even in her last summary she wrote that I finally had good rapport with her and then rejected me. I’m tired of getting passed to someone else for treatment , it’s happened with most places I had tried to get therapy.
