What constitutes trauma?

I’ve been suffering from severe depression, anger and anxiety due to some complications with my health and I’m reminded by it every time I have a setback. It’s brought on crippling fears and nightmares. I’m just wondering if this is the right place to be discussing said matters - or is it more so for abuse/neglect/events etc leading to ptsd. I also wouldn’t be super surprised if this is a form of mild ptsd.

@courteousTiger5834 I did find a thread on medical trauma here. So it has been discussed here although that thread hasn’t been active lately. I have issues with some complications with medical problems. The area that I have found most helpful discussing those has been in disability forum.
