Abusive home. Advice?
I've lived in an abusive home for a majority of my life. All types of abuse and neglect have went on in that house. My dad is bipolar and goes off the deep end over the simplest of things. He drinks a lot as well. My mom is manipulative and hurtful. I'm twenty years old, everytime I try to move out of this house my mom gives me a guilt trip and they threaten to disown me. My parents make me pay rent to live in the house, my dad lost his job so I feel obligated to continue living here to help out. It's all getting to be too much. They fight all of the time. I feel like I'm constantly walking on egg shells. I'm 20 years old and yet I'm not allowed to leave my bedroom when I'm in the house. At the end of the day I'm just hopeless and tired because it doesn't feel like anything is ever going to get better.
You need to move out and start a life of your own that's free from abuse. That should be your focus and your goal. Remaining where you are will lead to nothing but more sadness for you.

There's no easy way to go about your situation; that's for sure. It sounds like you probably feel stuck. If there is a way for you to leave, do it. Just because your parents choose to live the lifestyle their in, it doesn't mean that YOU have to suffer for it & be wrapped up in their world. At the end of the day, you can only help yourself in this one. They say we act around the people we are around most. Save yourself before you turn into one of them, someday (not saying you would but anything is possible).
Another thing, why much you be subjected to your room when you pay rent? That seems strange to me & very unhealthy. My advice: save up money & leave. Get a roommate, live with a boyfriend/friend, live with a family member or anything except the situation you're in so you can start to rebuild your life.
