How do I learn to deal appropriately with emotions that my parents failed to teach me
So o was raised in a home where it was abnormal not to explode and get violent. I am now 26 and I struggle with not exploding and not destroying stuff. I don’t know how to deal with anger and frustration in a way that is safe to me and those around me and not just holding it back. Any tips on how to lessen it from like a blinding 10 to maybe an 8 or 7?

This is one of the harder emotional items to reteach yourself IMO
it may take several different approaches to see what works.... i am assuming this happens when really angry but maybe even if you are just annoyed....
i have had issues with this when being repeatedly ignored or not listened to........ there is a incident where i lost it that has become a family joke.... so i learned to
1. distance myself from the aggravation if possible in my case ... spouse
2. take a walk/ run/ or even a drive although i tend to drive too fast when ticked off........
3. i remember my daughter saying "remember that one time.... (the infamous explosion)"
and realize i do not want to give them the satisfaction of it ........ i journal or take a bath anything to distract from it and do not dwell on item..... i think those who are prone to lash out dwell on something small and make it bigger then it is ...........
