For me healing means finally being free to be myself and loving/accepting myself fully. It's also realizing I didn't deserve the trauma I experienced, and that I do deserve love and compassion (especially from myself) just as much as anyone else.
It also means being in a place where I can hold space for others who are in their healing journey. Healing can be painful. For me I had a lot of anger and resentment when I really started finally healing, but on the other side of that Pain and resentment I found my strength and began to really appreciate the person I am and I hope the same for so many others who have experienced trauma to be able to learn to love and appreciate themselves.
It's kind of is like surgery, you have to go in and clean out the wounds and then the time it takes to heal depends a lot on how well you take care of yourself, what kind of injury, and whether or not you have the support you need to take care of yourself during the healing phase.
