CPTSD
How can I get back to my old self who was once competent, persistent, and valued high standards?
Upon enduring CPTSD (which I just newly discovered through self-diagnosis and researching, as my trauma responses and symptoms match it), I have suffered an intense loss of drive in my studies, low self-esteem, and difficulty strengthening my boundaries, self-worth, and non-negotiables.
I am at the early stages of adulthood, and I cannot talk about this with my parents because they do not have any knowledge about it and would only add to my trauma.
How do I reframe my brain wiring? My self-perception? How do I forgive myself? Is forgiving the perpetrator necessary when he is a part of your family?
@willingPal4403 hello 👋. I totally understand your situation. If you want to chat about complex post traumatic stress disorder i am happy to listen
This really resonated with me. I too have CPTSD and struggle with my value and worth as a person along with setting and maintaining boundaries. My perpetrator is also a member of my family and in my case, it has resulted in the family taking his side and my being cut out of the family. I struggle with forgiveness to myself and to others involved, particularly the perpetrator. I'm willing to discuss more, but only if it would help you. I don't want you to feel any pressure otherwise.
