Disfunctional family

My younger sibling has Aspergers with hard OCD, and one of my parents keeps nugging him every minute of every day. My second parent is distant mostly, but he has anger outbursts too and prone to physical violence. Both of my parents trying really hard to get education to my younger sibling, because if he will not go to university, he will be sent to army, and nobody knows what will be with him then. They also care about us and love us. They are willing to give money, ask for professional help, hire personal tutors. They are just not willing to work on their parenting style. Its easier to make child a problem, or ignore the problem completely.

I am scared that one day my younger sibling will break and will do something dangerous towards our parents of himself. I suppose its highly unlikely, but I dont know whats in him head.

Its crazy that I still cant completely separate myself from this environment financially and emotionaly. There are a lot of skills I dont have, and a lot of fear and shame which oh boy I have. I feel I am getting weaker everyday I witness some of the crap my family is doing.

Dear Beloved,

Living in an environment where there is constant conflict, criticism, and emotional tension can cause significant stress. It is possible for parents to love their children and still have unhealthy parenting styles.

Your concern for your younger sibling is understandable, especially when you see him struggling with challenges and living under constant pressure.

Please remember that you are not responsible for managing your parents' behavior or preventing every possible outcome for your sibling. Those responsibilities are larger than any one person can carry. Focus on what is within your control, such as being a supportive presence for your sibling, encouraging professional help when appropriate, and taking care of yourself as well.

Ongoing family conflict can affect your mental health. The fear, shame, and exhaustion you describe are understandable reactions to a difficult environment.

Work on building practical skills, financial independence, and a strong emotional support system. Small steps can gradually increase your sense of freedom, confidence, and stability.

Please be patient and compassionate with yourself. You are carrying a lot, and you deserve support too.
