How to confuse a narcissist

What you never heard

(Only for narcissistic survivors. )

These are creative ideas to do when you don't know what to say to a narcissist.

1) A sentence from nowhere/ words from nowhere.

Personnally, I take them from my theatre's show's dialogue. The less it has to do with the context, and the weirdest and dumbest, the better. If you keep on saying them, they will think you're stupid, and give up.

2. Describe the place around you

It looks pointless, but it will help you escape if you need grounding, and allow you to express yourself. You can even do it with poetry. They will totally bug I promise.

3. Tell them the truth. But without actually doing it.

Let me explain. Repeat everything they say, but with " I " statements. Like, " I destroy people's lifes and the family. "Or" I am stupid/ crazy" . The secret? In your brain, the " I " is replaced by "You" Then, add all the things you think about them, as if you thought they were about you. They will not even notice they never said that to you. So for them, they have won, but for you, you did. But maybe it's tricky in that way, because they won't feel upset or angry and it's like you told them what they want to hear.

If you tried my method, let me know if it works. It's the first time I share something else then my own issues on this app, so I'm really curious if I can help people.

I really like the first two options. And think they could be useful for many people, not just people having to deal with narcissistic behaviour. They could be used any time anyone is in an awkward social situation and wants the other person to go away.

I particularly like the second one, because it doesn't need us to remember anything beyond "describe something around you". Sometimes I can't remember clever phrases when I want them, but for this, I don't need to.

Newbie here; pardon if I'm in the wrong place.

Thanks for the info. Everything dealing with a narcissist last only for a time: ie Grey rock etc...

30 years with a narcissist husband. Found out about 3 years ago--working on a escape plan. For about 27 years I knew there was a problem, but I thought it was me. Studied books, read GOD'S Word, went to counseling but thankfully my daughter with similar husband gave me info regarding narcissist. She sent lots of youtube videos and blogs. My mouth hit the floor. I wasn't alone. I was elated it was never me😕 but as I kept studying, I learned I'm helping him hold his mask up🫩😩

Thanks for listening. My dream sooner than later is to be heard, protected, and loved.
