Introduction: Request to Share PTSD Awareness Reflections
Hello everyone,
I’m looking forward to being part of this community. To contribute in a meaningful way, I’m planning to occasionally share the same daily PTSD and mental health reflections that I write for other support groups.
My goal is education, encouragement, and letting people know they’re not alone. These posts are based on my own lived experience as a former 911 call taker, crisis intervention team member, first responder, suicide survivor, and someone in recovery from substance dependence who continues to live with PTSD.
Many of these reflections are also being compiled into a nonprofit book project, Through the Little Lens, focused on grief, addiction, trauma, resilience, and hope. The purpose is not financial gain or promotion—it is to make these stories and lessons accessible to anyone who may benefit from them.
If sharing these posts is inconsistent with this community’s guidelines, I completely understand and will gladly adjust. My intention is simply to offer support, foster understanding, and remind others that healing is possible, even when the road is difficult.
Thank you for welcoming me.
@BrandonJM I support what you are doing and it seems you did a lot for people in the past before you ran into your own issues which you and I spoke about before, you are welcome here and yes I have lots of mental illness too. I have never been a substance user but went through terrible things :( maybe your reflections will help me. But I am going through a lot so I cannot know how available I will be.
@neatPear9815 as in how available I will be to read it. But I will read it when I can because maybe it will help me.
@BrandonJM
Hey I am not 100 percent sure if this breaks guidelines or not, it can maybe break confidentiality. I am going to tag @Heather225 maybe she can clarify
