Well from all ive heard and felt myself, C-PTSD is repetitive traumatisation in a short period of time, affects how you think, see the world and yourself. Triggers are also there ofcourse and can really realky be retraumatising, everyone has different triggers, personally from what ive heard too speaking about the traumas does not work and can retraumatise you becus the whole problem is that youve been constantly traumatised yknow? There are solutions personally i use somatics to help , heard someone say NARM therapy helped? Idk my situation is a bit difficult as i am stuck in the sane place that traumatized me 😕

@berrycheesecake90
yeah… you’re definitely not alone 🤍
and honestly, thank you for saying this out loud.
living with complex PTSD is exhausting in ways that are really hard to explain—especially to people who haven’t lived it. on the outside, it can look like you’re “fine,” “high-functioning,” or “over it,” but inside it’s flashbacks, emotional overwhelm, hypervigilance, shutdowns, and constantly feeling like your nervous system is on fire.
what makes it even harder is dealing with people who don’t get it. the “just move on,” “that was years ago,” “but you seem okay” comments can feel so invalidating. like your pain is invisible unless it’s dramatic enough for others to understand.
i’ve been through a lot myself—prolonged trauma that shaped how i see the world, relationships, and even myself. it wasn’t one moment, it was layers over time, and that’s what people often don’t understand about CPTSD. it rewires you. it stays in the body.
but i also want to say this part, because it matters 🌱
trauma treatment has helped me more than i ever thought it could. learning skills, understanding my nervous system, having language for what’s happening to me—it didn’t erase what i went through, but it made living possible again. safer. lighter in moments. less lonely.
if you’re reading this and nodding along—if you feel unseen, misunderstood, or tired of carrying it quietly—you’re not broken, and you’re not weak. you’re surviving something very real.
you’re seen here.
you belong here.
and you don’t have to explain yourself to be valid 🖤
