3 years ago, I was stuck in a sexually abusive relationship. Today, I got a viral video on my social feed. A girl with Him. His gf. It threw me in a panic attack and I almost puked. I couldn’t help but send her a message about what he did to warn her, then I blocked her. I cannot stomach a response from her if it’s anything but her not believing me.

@SomberDreams I'm so sorry a out this. You've been through one of the worst thing that could happen to a woman and your reaction is absolutely normal, painful as it is. It was very brave of you to warn that girl, you probably just wanted to move on and not think of it again but you did something brave and you gave her a chance to protect herself. Whether or not she will believe you is out of your hands, you did all you could and now it's up to her. If you weren't ready to face a reply from her, that's ok. You don't have to force yourself to do anything you're not ready to do.
I wish you the best and give you all my support.

And yes this is totally normal! I was in a similar situation. And warned others about it in the community, some believe me, some didn’t. But felt good that I did my part, even though it brought up emotions and triggered me at times. So what you did makes sense to protect yourself. As you don’t have to wait for her to accept your answer or believe you for it to be valid and true. You know what happened either way. So kudos for being brave- I second what the other replier said. And protecting yourself. That’s what’s important here on your healing journey. Keep going!!

Checking back in to see how you’re doing. It’s OK if it’s been a challenge, any update or feeling is valid. It’s wherever you are at. Wanted to let you know you are cared about regardless
