TRIGGER WARNING- DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SURVIVOR

To make a long story short I left my abuser 6 months ago. Divorce was signed in August. Of course he already had a serious relationship before the ink was dry. Being that my divorce is from my abuser, my divorce healing journey has been different for me than most. I’m not “jealous” of my ex and his new girlfriend, I’m seriously grateful because without her he would be focusing on me. Ever since he found a girlfriend We’ve been extremely amicable.

Today he tried to come by the house and pick up a title (with her). I have given this boundary more than once. I chose to go hand the title to a mutual friend and said to grab it from them instead. This is a boundary (I’ve been working on enforcing boundaries and finding my voice).

this happened at the exact second I was dressed for the gym and walking out the door (6-630) and I missed my gym session because of this. It triggered me to I guess remember how everything I used to try to do he would mess up and it just set me into a wave of anger .

My days have been really good, especially since it’s been 6 months.but For some reason i just felt a huge wave of emotion today.

End rant.

@1000Alpacas You are a great person with a huge courage to have walked out of the toxic marriage. You chose yourself and valued yourself. You have created healthy boundaries and it is a huge step in the healing journey. I am sorry you are feeling an emotional wave because of the recent incident. Being triggered is one of the worst things and it is so hard to go away from past thoughts when triggered. It is okay to feel a lot of emotions. It is okay to feel anger. Your emotions are totally understandable and valid. You are doing great. You are not alone. Sending all the love to you 💕💕

@1000Alpacas you've been so strong, ending an abusive relationship is harder than people realize, and it's also hard to move on and start living your life again. It's normal to have good days and albad days, emotions and memories alone and go, it's never a straightforward process. But you're doing you're best and you're holding on to your newly found peace, you can be proud of yourself!
Today is a new day, a new chance to keep focusing on yourself and healing from your past. I wish you the best on your journey
