Who knew?
How many of us are traumatized children and don't even know?...
Turns out I am, and the ridiculous thing is, I have had a lifetime of health work…
Thankfully, I always had intuitive knowing and was always proved right…

That hit me hard. So many of us carry childhood trauma without knowing it, even after years of working on ourselves. I’m so glad you have that intuition that’s always proven right. Trust it now. Awareness is the first step to healing, and you’ve already taken it.

@SilverTabbyCat63 ❤️❤️
Thank you fossilfellow, good to see you again and I'm returning your hugs too.

@SilverTabbyCat63 i can relate to I didn’t know I was a Traumatized child until my older brother pointed out of in a conversation. Your not alone 💛
The sad truth is we are all in this together. Most of us (on this planet) are in some way, going through life and not even knowing... The go to book, is The Body Keeps The Score (Bessel Van Der Kolk, hopefully that is the global title) it is a bit medical but readable and maybe a bit triggering. It is the perfect foundation, but then you need to take each/most of the options further.
I thought I should add (for all to see)... I did have a lot of background experience and knowledge, and very interestingly/intuitively already following the best paths. Most of the "conditions" we suffer are symptoms of trauma. So please don't just look at the symptom in isolation, but deal with the roots / the trauma. The book mentions that 25 years ago the Noble Prize for Economics was given for showing this is globally economical not viable...
Above I have written about taking the options further... I should say that the really important ones are... (Trauma informed) Yoga and IFS. (I have also written about these on the Somatics thread, see below.)
On International Day of Yoga (2026) I want to highlight two things... First, below is a YouTube link to what Yoga really is... Second is Dr Arielle Schwartz's work on Trauma Informed Yoga (you can search her name online). She is both a psychologist and fellow Yogi... 🙏

I should clear something up that is very important... I first knew the Japanese word kokoro, later the Sanskrit word chitta (used in this video)... Both mean both heart (emotions somatic) and mind (thoughts cognitive) together, not separate (reductionist and lost in translation)... I have used this with medical professionals, and thankfully (to date) have agreed, you cannot separate the two (The Body Keeps The Score etc)...
What I am willing to share is free for all of humanity (our birthright) and has been available for millennia. It is all finally been proved correct by physics neuroscience physiology etc... It is incredibly simple yet profoundly deep. Lao Tzu said "those that know don't speak"... for the very reason that most just don't want to know/understand (which unfortunately is a disappointing waste of life and also related to having no time in the modern world). You don't need to believe me, I can point you towards all the evidence (which is everywhere). In the meantime listen to the words of Alanis Morissette's Thank U. She both knows and knows trauma 🙏
I would like to add a link to someone else's thread called... Somatics... I have written a good amount there about the help options available. You can search threads in communities.
I think it's time for me to finally add why I keep using the word... Intuition... We all have this ability, but are all so misinformed, therefore disconnected, we don't pay it any attention... The body doesn't just keep the score, it knows what to do. The doctor doesn't heal you, your body heals its self (but also needs to be given the correct resources).
We really need to stop calling it Fight/Flight!?... This was coined during the 20th century and two world wars, when you were shot as a coward for running away, because you were needed to fight!... Before this, evolution and animal study knew it was the other way around... More recent study shows a third part, which again, we can all easily understand. So, the correct order is... Flight, run away... Freeze, play dead if you are trapped... only last, because it obviously carries the most risk, is to Fight... It is obvious now, isn't it!? And completely explains why most of us are trapped in a chronic traumatic state, because were not allowed to run away to safety, because society tells you, you are weak!?... No, it's survival of the fittest! You need to 'complete' the survival process (getting to safety) and not end up with PTSD. This is also an important part of PTSD treatment.
Adding to the Flight/Freeze/Fight (above), another simple, obvious explanation... Your body (somatic) tenses (Flight/Fight) or collapses (Freeze) first, preparing for the relevant action, then you feel tense or collapsed (the feelings we are left with - tense or depressed/hopeless). This is evolution physiology neuroscience ANS (autonomic nervous system) etc, not cognition which is slower to respond and even shuts down under threat (real or perceived).
