journaling and questions

As of late, I have had trauma on my mind and was wondering if others thought that journaling might be able to help me get things out. I have tried journaling in the past, but it has never stuck, and I am in a place where I just want to talk about what happened and figure out why I cant let any of it go.

@Pumkineyes25 I think journaling can help. I don't always journal consistently either. I don't think it's something that can really be forced because then it becomes more of a chore. You could journal when you feel like as things come to mind? Some times it's hard to let things go when we haven't fully worked through it. Sometimes we just need to get our truth out. It can be hard to let go if the wounds never healed.

@Pumkineyes25

Writing a journal was helpful to me because it is more about getting it all out and then going back and reading ..... that is the part some miss   i found a journal and re-read what I wrote ... it was helpful in seeing i was really upset about minor things that i felt at the time were HUGE.

it does seem easier if we could just talk and get instant feedback but IMO we do not always get the result we need. What i mean by that is some will be our cheerleader and say "yes you are right all the time.."   so we do not feel challenged to really examine our feelings .... I got very lucky in a person who has been through things and pushes back on my thoughts and helped me see things  clearer.

I'd be happy to listen.

Also I journal everyday. I decorate it, draw in it, write feelings, lists, to do's, short stories, spiritual things, business ideas, and the worry journal is 20 mins and that's it for the rest of the day on those worries. Then write at least five steps to solving the worry, an action plan. Works Everytime.

hey @Pumkineyes25

i really felt this

i’ve been in that place too, where stuff from the past just loops and you don’t even know what to do with it anymore—like your brain wants to talk but doesn’t know where to start

i tried journaling a few times before too and it never stuck either, but recently i gave it another shot and something kinda shifted… maybe cause i didn’t pressure myself this time, just let it be messy and honest

someone told me about calyssa.ai—it’s like an ai journal that actually talks back a little, not in a weird way but like… helps you get to the core of what you’re feeling, especially when you don’t have the words. i’ve been using it on and off and it’s been a good space to vent and reflect

if you do give journaling another go, no rules… even a couple sentences can open up a lot. rooting for you
