Hey. I came to 7cups for support with depression and anxiety, but past traumas are now being brought up in counseling and I'm really struggling with it... Still not able to talk about it out loud and writing about it is hard at the best of times. Stuff has been buried in the past for years and I was functioning... Now I'm having flashbacks, nightmares, panic attacks and I am constantly on edge... It hurts and I just want things to go back to how they were, buried where they belong... I cry for no reason and can't get past the guilt, regret and shame.
Hey @OneOddSock and welcome! Glad you have joined us here. I understand how hard it is when what has been biuiied comes to the surface. as you say it hurts. .. and we often wish it was all still buried. You know its possible to find a way through this... in therapy and with support.. and this is my hope for you.
Hi,
I'm brand new to 7 cups. I came here looking for some extra support to supplement my weekly therapy sessions. I went into therapy for depression and anxiety last February after a really rough 8 months caregiving for my dad, who moved in with my husband and me after being diagnosed with leukemia. I was diagnosed with complex trauma and learned that both my parents were narcissistic/personality-disordered. I've had a lot of upheavals in the past year. My dad spread a bunch of lies about how we treated him, stopped speaking to me, died, disinherited me, and didn't want me at his funeral. My mom hasn't spoken to me since I confronted her a few weeks before he died (this February). So between all that and working through trauma in therapy, it really feels like a lot sometimes.
Hi @coraline23 and a warm welome to you! Sorry to hear all you have been going through...sounds really tough. So glad you have joined us here... we are a supportive bunch.. and hope that you find something of what you need.

Hi Everyone... I am new here.. still figuring it out. Really just wanting to have more support in my life. I have very little or at least it feels that way. I am right in the middle of crazy stuff right now.. so my emotions are everywhere. Struggling with a bit of anxiety and depression.. also numbness from the trauma.. trying to remember to take care of myself...and that this is real.. I can't ever go back to whatever it was that was before. Also...wanting to make the right decisions... for both myself, my children.. and really everyone involved.
Thanks for allowing me to introduce myself.
Umm... hi...
So what brought me here... I'm trying to build my network... I don't trust that many people in real life... Online is easier...
I have Complex PTSD and what that means to me is that I've gone through extended periods of trauma in two stages of my life.
First is summed up as parentification with domestic abuse involved.
Second, spiritual, ritual and psychological abuse.
So that's what's happening
It doesn't define me though
