New to our Community? Introduce Yourself!
Hello to everyone.
While our reasons for being here are difficult, we are so thankful you are here. If you want to, please take a moment to introduce yourself and tell us a bit about you and your interests. Feel free to make yourself at home. Please don't feel obligated to share if you're not comfortable. Even just a hi is sufficient if you're comfortable.
Take gentle care. We look forward to welcoming you into our community!

Hello Everyone!
I'm Leigh and am Support Session Leader for the Trauma community. SO excited to be working with everyone here!
I am a psychology graduate and a musician. I love creative arts- very eclectic and enjoy so many things! I'm also eager to try out something new and exciting when it comes my way.
Most of you will know me as 'The Cat Lady' or 'Lady Cat' because I live with 6 adorable feline 'monsters'.
Hi AutumnLeigh,
Thanks for introducing yourself. I am a Forum Mentor here in the Trauma Community. I enjoy my hobbies, being here in discussions and meeting people.
Kristen
@AutumnLeigh I'm also a musician :) what instument?
@ibaselrose
Welcome ibaselrose!! I play piano, handbells, drums and sing backup or harmony. How about you?
@AutumnLeigh
Oooh you're a psychology graduate! Coolness!!! :) (I so cannot wait to be able to say that one day soon, too). Funny thing is I love it, but graduation is scaring me the closer I get.
Thanks for sharing about yourself :)
@BradyChay2310
Looking forward to a post from you saying you are a graduate from college. I'm so excited for you! <3
@AutumnLeigh
<3 Thank you <3
@BradyChay2310
Hi Brady, thanks for joining in! Congratulations on heading toward your graduation. I hope it goes really fast for you.
@KristenHR
That was scary to read! Whew... Thank you so much!!! :)
Hello Folks
My names Rain and Im a forum mentor here :) I've been a listener focusing on supporting the trauma community since July 2016. I love being part of the Traumatic Experiences Community and have been priviledged to share a small part of your life journey and have been honoured to meet some great listeners here too
I think your all amazing people to be here to day and to share your stories, your struggles as well as the wonderful achievements your all striving for. Stay strong and never give up hope :)
I love animals and have one border collie x australian cattle dog who I adopted after a really bad start to life and two rescue cats. :) I love music, and play the drums, flute and guitar. I love growing fruit and vegetables in my lil ole garden and I enjoy doing agility with my dog.
@dancingRainbow45
Thanks Rain. It's good to get to know more about you and your interests and support here. Glad you're here!
@dancingRainbow45
You're also a wonderful singer! Don't forget that. And we are so pleased with all the work you've done here for Survivors of Trauma and PTSD. Bravo!
@AutumnLeigh I think the crown for singing goes to our lovely @KristenHR. And thank you :) Between us all, we make a good team <3
@dancingRainbow45
Thanks, but I think everyone who sings here deserves a round of applause. It has been an awesone karaoke for the first week of our subcommunity.
@KristenHR Absolutely agree with you. It was a great week :)
@dancingRainbow45
Thanks for sharing! I had never heard of agility (with the dogs) until coming here. Pretty cool!
Your post brought back such a pleasant childhood memory. My grandpa had a little garden and he'd spend time with me out there talking and sharing fruits and veggies with me. It was fun. One of my greatest memories of/with him. 💜
@BradyChay2310
Heres a link to show you dog agility :) And of course, the collies usually win LOL https://youtu.be/woRBpEHFE3U If you forward it on a little you can see the fast dogs
Just a reminder this thread is for everyone, including members. So don't be shy!
You can say as much or as little as you'd like.
I'm Debs by the way 🙂
Hi all. I'm living with chronic illness and mental health issues. Spend a lot of time at home alone. Looking for some human connection.
Love animals, have 2 cats. Love music, listening and singing. Enjoy fantasy/paranormal/scifi books and movies and tv shows.
@CuriousUnicorn3
Hi!! Welcome to the bunch!
Oh a few of us love music and singing... That's awesome to add to the list. I am home a lot (work & school & kids) so I can understand your wanting human interaction. 😀
I look forward to learning more about you! 💜 Again, welcome!
Hi, everyone. I just saw this... :)
I'm Brady. I'm an intern here and picked this group because it's been my life, pretty much.
I'm a 3rd yr psych student, love to sing (was in the choir and all), love writing, walking, and seeing/learning new things.
Thanks for this place and being so welcoming. :)
Hello @BradyChay2310 and welcome... glad that you have joined us here!
I'm a forum supporter in the sexual assault/sexual abuse and PTSD. Love writing too, and the outdoors... especially with my three dogs..walking and swimming at the beach, running in the paddocks, and doing agility (that is the dogs.) And now reading and knitting as winter sets in "down under"
@rozie
Thank you for the warm welcome. :) Writing and walking help me so much! We completed a 5k walk this part summer. It was so much fun!
I do, however, wish I'd learned to knit as a child. I cannot seem to get it now. Maybe take a course would help! Have you seen the knitted hand-warmers? They're gorgeous & my reason for wanting to lean knitting. Hehehe! 😁
I do quilting, though. Do you?
@BradyChay2310
Yes those knitted hand-warmers do look gorgeous.Maybe an incentive to learn to knit.... plain and purl aren't too hard and you can do most things with these two stitches. Relaxing too and said to be therapeutic... the steady rhytm of the knitting needles.
@rozie
Hi rozie, welcome from SA! I too love writing. It helps tremendously. Thanks for sharing this and reminding me what a great tool is literally at my fingertips!
@KristenHR
Thanks for your welcome and lots of appreciation for all you're dong here. Greetings from one southern hemisphere writer to another!
@rozie Oh another agility fan :) I hear your joining trauma as a forum supporter. Good to have you. I too do agility with my border collie and I love it, and so does she :)
@dancingRainbow45 yes i share your love for agility and border collies. My girl is only14 months old so just learning the basics, but i think she'll really enjoy this sport.
What a diverse team we are.. with interests in common and yet variation too...as a community often is. Hoping that others will join us and share in this rich diversity and find a place that is safe.
@BradyChay2310
@rozie
Warmest hellos to you both, and how wonderful to be in such great company. Rozie, you're a 7 cups legend, so compassionate and supportive - your empathy shines through. And Brady, I've only spotted you recently but very taken by your supportive and inquisitive posts, and genuine interest in the people you respond to.
Hello 👍🙂
@DeborahUK
Hi! Thank you so much for the kind words, they are very much appreciated. 💜
To be fair, I've only been here a short while. :) Thank you so much. I've read some of your posts, as well. You're very supportive and I'm honored to be here with such awesome people. 💜
@DeborahUK
Hello Debs and thanks for the warmth of your greetings. Lovely to connect with you here.. i so often enjoy your writing in the Forums... and appreciate the wisdom you share.
@BradyChay2310

@Panamabanana

@AutumnLeigh Thank you for the welcome♡
Yay!!!!! Welcome to all the new members!!! :D
Hi I'm Papaya. I didn't plan on sticking around when I made my account so didn't bother changing my user name.. seems like I'm stuck with it now!
I like running, baking and spending time in nature. I'm very fond of wine and binge watching various stuff on Netflix.
@fearlessPapaya5168 Netflix has taken too many hours from my life, haha! I like Jane the Virgin right now. What are you watching?
@Panamabanana just finished watching stranger things which was really good. Need to find something new to watch now.
Hi Everyone, :) I'm fairly new to this site and just joined this form , my name is penny , an artist and a mom of two lovely little ones..
@energeticPenny8
Welcome! I'm a mom and absolutely love all that's art (music, paint, writing, dance, theatre, etc). I'm so glad you're here. I can't wait to hear more about you. 💙
I suppose it's about time I do this!
Hi everybody, I'm Shark, I'm an intern with 7 Cups and Traumatic Experiences is my forum of choice for the participation modules.
I really love the community you guys have here, and I felt drawn to it because I as well have PTSD from systemic, repeated and severe childhood sexual abuse. Learning about PTSD and how stress affects the neurochemistry of the brain has been a way for me to empower myself over the years and it's so wonderful to see knowledge being shared and comisserated here on the forum.
I'm always available as a Listener if anyone ever needs to talk, and I hope to see you guys around!
Hello everyone! I recently joined this community. I have had kind of a difficult time finding people on here that will chat about sexual abuse/assault. Hopefully some will. I am working on my Master's degree in mental health counseling, have about one year left, but am taking a break right now. I love to write, especially poetry. I also like to spend time with my two kids and work with my flowers. I look forward to meeting everyone!
