Nobody deserves to be hurt
For anyone out there reading this, remember: nobody deserves to be hurt.
Oftentimes, victims who encounter traumatic experiences are subjected to these experiences due to conscious choices made by others. What can happen is that people end up getting hurt, as a result of peoples' decisions.
What needs to be emphasized is: nobody deserves to be hurt.
There is no reason for people to hurt others. There is no excuse, no justification; nothing. When perpetrators purposefully hurt or harm victims in various ways, it is not the victim's fault. The perpetrator(s) chose these ill actions themselves.
If you are a survivor of trauma which has involved being consciously hurt by other people, know and remember that these actions were not your fault. You did not deserve for them to happen to you.

This is a great reminder!! Thanks for sharing with us because it's so true.
It's hard to remember, because we try to think "what could we have done differently to protect ourselves" but the fact is that if someone really wants to take our power away... they can. There is only so much we can do. And we may blame someone who leaves their door unlocked for not being responsible, but the fact is, that we shouldn't need to do that. Morality should stop a person from stealing, not a lock. Although we know there is evil in the world, you never know where it will strike.

I agree with your sentiment shared here that you should not blame a victim for hurtful incidents which purposefully occur towards them by a perpetrator, or perpetrators. It is still a perpetrator's fault for making choices which end up causing harm to another person, for example, assault, or as you were saying, a robbery. An instigator has still chosen to make those wrong decisions themselves. This could be seen as victim blaming, and I think that blaming a victim should be avoided.
