Ok so hello

I think in the American culture and with more young people we are desensitized to horrible things and therefore have less empathy for living things or fellow people

Just some examples in my opinion

I mean the whole list of horrible things ICE has been doing to innocent people not just this year but since the early 2000s sometimes mirroring actual concentration camps and the US public just glossed over it

To me it is no secret going by my life that women's pain in general isn't very talked about or of much public concern, even sometimes by other women

We live in a country that heavily produces meat products and I don't want to get into my views on the benefits of or consequences of veganism

But at some point don't we have to admit that our general view of animals can be really cruel in a lot of our societies

Not just in eating meat but in the media, kids cartoons, grocery stores

I'm not saying anyone has to start being a vegetarian I'm just concerned because a lot of us look at cows and pigs etc and don't even seem to know they're capable of experiencing tremendous pain

Parts of the meat industry are honest to God terrifying it's incredibly disturbing to learn about or watch

And there's so much of it. And we may know about it. But it's like oh well that's how it is.

With the rise of social media I see a lot of people filming other people without their consent especially in humiliating positions

And then we laugh at their pain? Wtf?

I'm not talking about what I think is a benefit of social media which is capturing prejudice on film and making them accountable for it that way, like someone calling another person slurs or starting a hate crime

My view on that is dang right it should be on film, what they are doing is wrong

So just to clarify I'm not talking about that

I see a lot of not consensual filmings of a lot of mentally ill people doing something people don't understand, ethnic minorities pain, and women's "hysteria"

That's just so awful to me

I think it's hard to draw the line now between people filmin someone to be "relatable" and to make fun of their mental illness.

I do think more people are vocal now and can relate with others on our illnesses and that's good but

Like if the person doesn't know you're filming them that's bad enough and you don't know them, maybe they're in pain maybe it's a coping mechanism or maybe they're just happy and they are trusting you to share that with them and you're using it for your own popularity

To me that's gross

With the second part I don't want to overstep my place as I am white and I have never experienced racial discrimination so idk what that's like

But I do care about people and to me it's just so rude to make a joke out of someone's pain and think it's ok and funny simply because you know you can get away with it bc society already doesn't see them as equals

That's gross to me. Like let them have their pain

I saw a meme made out of an African American woman crying over her child dying I think

That is so cruel!

She is going through a horrible traumatic event! How could people be so cruel to use that and laugh at that

I've also seen a lot of women from various backgrounds crying about something probably not happy and people just think that's hilarious and I just don't understand. Let her have her pain.

Also baby deliveries on tv. I have so many opinons. I think it stems from our treatment of women in general do people not understand,

Childbirth is an extremely painful, usually long sometimes traumatic experience that is like one of the most painful things humans can ever experience

Yet women do it and have done it forever for their children and so many of them don't complain even though their bodies are literally ripping apart

And we still joke about them. That woman is making an incredible physical and mental sacrifice and instead of being like wow that's strong we just don't want to talk about it or laugh at how "crazy" pregnant women are

And ofcourse there's rape jokes which just how can you be so cruel

Ugh.

I know some people are going to disagree with me on all this. I always know that.

But I just ask you to remember a time in your life where you were treated horribly and ask yourself would you really want another person to be treated like that or have potentially millions of people enjoy that person's pain

And if you've never been treated horribly then dang you are so lucky

Yeah, the world is just evil. About the meat, I've seen YouTube videos about some of the slaughter houses and the people will go as far as shooting a baby piglet in the head just for not growing fast enough or sick cows to the point of being unable to move and having nasty stuff coming out of their eyes, and we still eat them. They're just not nice in there and I personally would never work in one.
