PTSD different than Birth mental health

At times people call me crazy or tell me to take medication. Unfortunately what I have can't be cured that simply. How do you explain that what has happened was brought on by life experiences rather then a chemical imbalance? I do know a lot of people with other kinds of certain mental heath. Although no one can understand mine is brought on by circumstances. Or I am just told it wasn't that bad. But with these experiences I have learned I am unable to trust others, or even myself. I feel a heavy sense of neglect and often invisible. When people do engage with me its not what I expect. I think I have a wonderful personality, but the world is shallow and I am often considered ugly. I wish this was some times but its by important people in my life as well as strangers. My entire childhood I was insecure and quiet because of what I thought people though of me. Even my closest friends turned their backs on me. Now as an adult, my adulthood has been nothing but grief. I am in my 30s and no longer believe it gets better. But I often find all my ptsd from my life has affected me and now I don't see a way out. I have never done therapy before and I am new to this site.

Thank you to everyone reading.

@willingComputer4064 It's true that some mental illnesses cannot be cured. Some people who suffer from those conditions have to take medication for life, and although the medications might help, they are not a cure.

But conditions like PTSD, and also some other conditions caused by life experiences and circumstances, can be treated very successfully by therapy. When treatment is complete, there is often no need for further treatment or medication. For PTSD in particular, treatments like CBT and EMDR are very well established, and they have helped a lot of people.

Of course, therapy is not a simple matter, and when you have a complex condition it can be difficult to find a sufficiently skilled and experienced therapist. If you have never had therapy, it is difficult to imagine how helpful an expert therapist can be. I hope that perhaps this might be the way out for you, after your life of insecurity and grief.
