You're rapist may have taken your virginity but you still have a chance to follow your dreams. First of all, have you told anyone about it? Because it would help to talk to someone about. I'm gonna be honest, I don't really know what to say and I don't know what its like but you are obviously strong enough to still be here after something like that happened.

Thanks for the kind words. I know I still have the chance, but the problem is I don't care to anymore. No one knows, no one. I'm too scared to tell anyone. But thanks for the support.

I can imagine this is hard for you and u don't want to pressure you or force my opinion, but holding this in is allowing the person who hurt you to have power over you. I am a stranger but if needed I can listen.

I know that all it is doing is letting him take control over me once again and I absolutely hate it. But I think it's better than the alternative. I don't think I could trust anyone with my story. Will they even believe it?

Damn, I really hate when people say "you're just letting them have power over you." No, the person saying that and perpetuating that myth are the ones who are 'letting' that happen.

Way to blame the victim even more.
It takes weeks to monthsto weaken the neural pathway and stop thinking about that person. Take as long as you need, and feel valid in your entire journey.

Well, when you think about, you told us and we believed you. And we're complete strangers.

Look for a therapist who specializes in trauma therapy. They understand your apprehension and they areexperiences in helping people in similar situations. They never jump right in and make you relive it right away. They give you the control over what you work on. They work on empowering you, making you feel safe, and helping you develop coping skills. And then, when you feel ready they will help you address your trauma in a safe way.

You are amazing and you didn't deserve that. You're not disgusting nor filthy because of what happened to you. You're not alone. You're loved.

I am so, so sorry that happened with you. That's the most destructive thing that can happen to anyone. Having experienced sexual abuse, I know what it is like. I know all the feelings you're having and how you feel destroyed.

You're still alive though. And at times you may even wish that you weren't, but you are. The possibilities of having a good life are never over.

This is a very hard thing to get through. But when we do get this, we're 10 times stronger than we were. You just have to get back slowly into life. It's a gradual process, takes a lot of time, but it does happen.

I hope you feel better very soon. You're very strong. Remember that.

Take care! <3

My ex got me pregnant, convinced me to have an abortion, and then began to physically abuse me. He took away my feeling of self worth.

I would like everybody who posted here to know that you're amazing, you never deserved any of those things that happened to you and you're very strong.
I was raped by ex, not long after dumping him, by the use of knock-out drops in my drink.

Sending love and strength to you all.

My ex went gun shopping with me knowing I was going to use t to kill myself. Another time he literally knew I was going to attempt suicide and his excuse was "I couldn't do anything to stop her" and when he cheated on me his excuse was "it wAs too important to make her happy that night".. He has broken up with me several times but keeps contacting me anyways. He recently contacted me and I have s new boyfriend and an trying to move on but its hard. When I thought I was pregnant he wanted me to be pregnant then broke up with me a week later. I feel like he helped corrupt me and take my innocent mind away but maybe it isn't good to be innocent

I have episodes of disassociation. I went into one for about an hour( this was after my boyfriend told me he slept with his ex) I felt as if nothing was real and I thought I could kill myself because I felt like reality was a dream. I told my boyfriend this while I was still hysterical and he handed me his knife..

None of what you are experiencing is your fault. Just keep your head up. My best piece of advice is to not let him back in your life ever. He sounds like he needs help. I am sorry you had to go through that, but keep fighting, stay strong. <3

What a creep. He obviously doesn't care for your wellbeing. Maybe you're better off cutting ties. Yeah it'll hurt for a little while but eventually it'll stop.
