I feel lonely

It's probably not a big deal, but it's hard, so I wrote it here.

My mother has a boyfriend, and since my room and theirs are next to each other, I can hear the sounds of their sexual activity. Every time I hear them, I feel like I'm being raped.

And it makes me feel dizzy and unsure of who I am. It hurts so much.

Hi friend 💜 Thank you for sharing this, if it feels like a big deal to you, then it is, and it shows a lot of strength that you've reached out about it.

It makes sense that you would have that reaction, I can't imagine how difficult that must be for you. It sounds like it's causing you some depersonalization too, that's so hard. I understand how that could feel lonely as well.

I'm wondering if this is something you could mention to your mom? Just something like, "Hey Mom, sometimes I can hear you guys in there and it makes me uncomfortable."

If not, which is completely understandable, maybe putting in some earbuds could help. 7Cups has a great mindfulness section with some meditations that could help you feel more grounded. (7cups.com/exercises/mindfulness)

And here is a safe place if you ever feel that you need one ❤ allison0317.wixsite.com/safeplace

(I'm not sure why it's not letting me link, but there you go anyway 😊)

In this exact moment, you are safe. You are okay. Everything is okay. I hope you'll take a moment to breathe, and tell yourself, "I am safe. I am okay."

I hope your discomfort, pain, and fear ease soon.

Sending warmth 💜🌿
