I'm confused
I'm so sorry, I know this probably doesn't belong here but I don't know where else I can go. A couple days ago, I showed my dad my school photo on my student card (I had just gotten it that day). He said it was beautiful and he started pinching at my cheeks and as I tried to walk away, he smacked my butt. I told him before that I don't like it when he touches my face. He squeezes my cheeks very hard and "lightly" smacks my face playfully, as he would call it. He does this to my mom too all of the time. He just smacked my butt out of nowhere and I felt very uncomfortable with it and I don't know what to make of all this. Someone please help me understand what this is and if it's normal.

Hello there! I am glad that you reached out for support. You should never have to be touched when you don't want to be touched. I agree that it is very weird to smack someone on the butt, especially your own daughter. I am sorry to hear that your father doesn't respect your boundaries and did this to you. Who are some adults in your area that you can trust about your father?

My mom used to do the weird smacking me on the butt thing too, I got so uncomfortable with it that one day I just kind of firmly told her to stop and I think she got the message.
But yeah you shouldn't feel like you have to be touched by anyone, especially if it makes you uncomfortable. It doesn't matter how closely related they are to you.
