It happened on my birthday
***SA***
I was at practice (for show choir) and we got called off for lunch which was Alan hour long, so me and a group of friends went to the girls dressing room so we could eat in there, and since it was my birthday my close two friends were giving me “birthday licks” (when you hit the person the same number of times as the age they’re turning that year) though one of my friends took it to far…
So while we we’re in the dressing room one my friends suggested we turned off all the lights and play a game or just chill with the lights off, everyone agreed so we turned off the lights. While I’m sitting on one of the counters in there my friend comes up to me (mind you it’s dark) and tries to grab me, and so I kicked them away so they try again and say they want a hug and so after some convincing I hug them back, and they reached around and slapped my ass (what them and two other friends have been doing all day that kind of irritated me) and so I pushed them off and went to the other side of the room.
(* Warning: this is when my memory gets kind of blurry when the more triggering things started happening, sorry if it doesn’t make sense*)
They followed me to the other side of the room and kept trying to forcibly hug me, slap my ass, and kiss me and I was trying to wrestle them off, and all my friends we’re laughing and saying: “ooh what are y’all doing over there?” And “Not y’all making out/trying to o something while we’re all in here.” So I kept trying to get away from them and ended up getting cornered by them next to the entrance of the dressing room, and while I kept pushing them away (I was laughing uncomfortably and telling them to get away from me) until I tripped and ended up on the floor and I started yelling for someone to turn on the lights, (which no one did at first since they were laughing and when they did it was only for a couple of seconds before they turned them off, also a girl came in while this was happening and looked down at me and walked into the room) while I was on the floor they tried to pull me back to them, I promptly kicked them, and went to sit back in my original spot on the counter, thinking maybe they would stop if I was near all my other friends.
They did not.
While I was sitting on the counter that’s when they really tried to kiss me and kept telling me to give them and kiss and pucker their lips up and and hug me and was really trying to get them off of me (during this time I kinda saw myself in third person in a video game like cutscene when you have to push and hold buttons at the right time so you get an enemy off of you) and while all this was happening and hearing all my friends laughing in the back it made me think: damn is this really happening right now? On my birthday, while everyone is laughing? Why are they laughing at me? (I was also telling my friend to get off of me and that I didn’t want to kiss them when this was happening; albeit lightheartedly with some seriousness to my tone since I didn’t want anyone to feel bad for me or hate them)
And finally it was over…
Someone had turned on the lights and my friend had slowly but surely stopped being aggressive and got off of me walking out of the dressing room a couple minutes after and I went to the bathroom (that was in the dressing room) to cool down and when I walked out there was barely anyone in there (like 2-3 girls) and one of them who I was cool with asked if I was okay, and I said yes, you know like a liar (sorry I had to end it on a lighter note I was spacing out like crazy writing this and felt really guilty, so that’s my story)
Sorry to hear that , you didn't deserve it 😣 it is sickening how people can be sometimes
You're so brave to be able to share <3
@helloCurrent3920 It sounds like the sexual assault you experienced by someone you thought was your friend is causing you to feel guilty. It is never your fault for being sexually assaulted. Sexual assault is a choice that only the attacker can make, so it is entirely their responsibility for not controlling themselves. I'm hearing that you feel disappointed both by the fact that it happened on your birthday and because your other friends were laughing at you rather than supporting you or protecting you.
