My girlfriend was raped and i don’t know how to help
My girlfriend was raped a couple of days ago by someone she knew. They told her she had to prove she was straight (we're both girls but we haven't come out). She blames herself bc she got in the car with him and eventually just let it happen. Obviously it is not her fault, but she feels guilty bc she thinks she could've done more to stop it and that she basically cheated on me. I've told her that i'm not mad at her and that she didn't cheat on me, but she still blames herself. I want to help her but i don't know what to do, we don't live close enough where i can just go over to see her after she's finished work so i hate that i can't comfort her whenever she needs it. I just want to know if there's anything more i can do bc i feel sick that this happened to her and i couldn't help and am still useless now. For extra context she already suffers from severe depression and other mental health disorders and is suicidal, so she struggles to accept help and i'm scared that this may make her more likely to attempt again. So any suggestions to how i can be helpful would be greatly appreciated
In my opinion for rape case, must report it to the police. Let the guy face justice
Hey I get it. It must be hard.. just constantly let her know that you are there for her no matter what. This must be hard for you as well.. you gotta keep a head strong face 24/7 for some time untill she's out of danger. Let her know a lot of people are going through similar and wort situation and she's not alone in this. And try to talk to her about coming out so this doesn't happens again. Being straight isn't a good place if you are not, being you is. Try to help her love herself the way she is. I hope these things happen and you guys find happiness again!!!

Hey there. This sounds like it would have been traumatic for both of you. Her, for experiencing it and her guilt (which is misplaced), and you, as the person who loves her so much. I am so sorry to hear of what happened to her. I knew it's been a few days now since you posted here asking for support. How is everything right now? I want to say that you are doing the best you can. All you can do is be there for her and reassure her that she's safe and that you love her. Don't be surprised if she continues to blame herself and feel like she betrayed you. It's normal behavior for those who have been victimized. And it's good she didn't try to fight -- you never know what can happen if you fight.
Might I suggest you have your girlfriend sign up for an account here, if she hasn't already, and get support here as well. Also I am not familiar with your location but she may be able to look into victim services.
