(TW) Was this sexual harassment?

February 5th, 2023

My dad was abusive. Both physically and emotionally. There was only one memory that I have that I didn't think was too bad until I started really thinking about it.

I only remember this happening maybe once or twice. It could've happened more, but I'm not sure. Anyway, I remember playing with him and when he picked me up, he had his hand between my legs. I think my mom told me to say something if he did that. I remember she told me once I had screamed at him and ran up to tell her (we were in the basement). It seemed like he didn't expect me to do that so I guess I scared him. I don't remember that.

My mom told me about how he made weird comments. There was at least one other thing she mentioned, but I'm not going to say what. I've just been questioning whether what happened could be considered sh. The answer is probably obvious, but I thought I should try asking.

Hello nest!

To answer your question, this is considered sexual harassment and I am deeply sorry this has happened to you.. did you tell your mom about the second time he did it? How do you feel right now?

@FishPhos21 I don't remember much from back then, but I'm pretty sure I told her. I think I had also told a children's aid agent once when they came over (some unrelated issue I can't remember.)

I feel pretty weird and disgusted.

I've had something similar to this happen only I was 7. My bio dad was always drunk and everything so one time he came home and wanted to "play". He told me to never tell anyone so I didn't.

I'm sorry you had to go through this! I'm here to talk at any point in time.

Hey there,

How have you been? I am extremely sorry to hear about it. It is painful to acknowledge that a father who is considered a protector in our society becomes our worst nightmare.

I can't even imagine how you might have felt all the time he was touching you inappropriately. Please do reach out to me if you'd want to talk to someone more about it.

Talking about our problems does make a difference. However, it is better to do that when we are ready. Please take your time as required.

Love,

-Angel 💜
