Too scared to get help
Three years ago, when i was 17, i got sexually assaulted multiple times by my ex. Half a year after the event, after talking to several teachers, i gathered the courage to go to the police. It was a terrible experience. I’ve learned that it’s legal in my country. No visible wounds = no sexual assault. Saying no and struggling to get out is not enough apparently. I’ve never really gotten help, or knew how to cope with this in a healthy way. I don’t think about it a lot, i’m numb to the memories. But i know it affects me subconsciously. However, i’m scared to get help. I’m scared i won’t be taken seriously again. Nobody really cares about what happened to me. I don’t know what to do anymore.

Hello Naya❤
Thank you for showing the courage to share your story here. It's heart wrenching to hear what your ex did to you and you had to deal with the pain multiple times...
I cannot imagine the strength and trust it could have taken to go to the police, I truly appreciate that, Naya at the same time it's so shameful on the part of those police officials to not understand the immense gravity of your suffering. I was gan**aped and still didn't get much injuries and it's pathetic to equate no visible wounds to no assault...
I can feel how difficult it might be to trust again take your time, Naya and seek all the support you deserve, there are many who wouldn't understand but know that's their wrong mentality and your pain deserves empathy and support to heal from, there are people who will hear you like your teachers did...what happened was serious and your emotions are valid.
Much love❤
