I am feeling triggered about former boss who was a bully
Last night, I talked to a close friend with who I used to work about a very toxic work environment that was supported to be part of an employment program for people with disabilities. The CEO even had a son on the severe end of the autism spectrum. However, the CEO was very greedy and exploited us so she could get a tax break. Additionally to that, she and several people in the management often bullied and made fun of their disabled employees. 😡.
As I was talking to my close friend last night, she explained to me last night that this boss, her late brother, and other members would get ahold of anything they could on me and not only make fun of me behind my back and make things up about me that were not true. However, they hated me for a few reasons
1. I am very confident and self-determined
2. I wouldn't let my disability define me
3. I am a truth-teller and I called them out for doing things that were unethical and unprofessional
However, I realize I am not so much angry that she did those nasty things to me behind my back. What really bothers me is that she started a work program for people with disabilities and was supposed to help them learn how to work and be professional. Yet, all she did was think about herself.

it is always a disappointment when we find out Many people who do things under the guise of helping are often in it for themselves.
It is also depressing when we see people who behind a fake veil of being professional or caring are really cruel and rude. while i can totally understand do not let them take up any more of your time and thoughts just feel sorry they are damaged people.

I thought about that today after praying and it came to me that they are mean-spirited people who are hurting themselves. My friend thinks that we probably don't see eye to eye and rubbed each other the wrong way. Maybe that is true as well.
As for not letting them take up my time, what I did was take a long way to work this morning and look around where I work. I realized how far I have come since leaving that organization so I am focusing on where I work today.
