What is your 'comfort' movie?
A comfort movie has many different interpretations for different people.
Most commonly, Comfort movies are the ones that a person can turn to when they are having a bad day and need an escape from everything for a while. Basically, any movie that brings you comfort.
You can have many comfort movies. They also do not necessarily need to be movies, they can be TV shows as well.
What are some of your favorite comfort movies?
I will have to be rather cliched, but Dirty Dancing gets me everytime. I used to dance as a child and a teenager and even qualified to teach tap dancing at the age of 16. But, life got in the way and i haven't danced since, except when this movie is on. It is guaranteed to transport me to a place of utter joy.
Where there are no thoughts, only music and the utter freedom of movement. Plus Patrick Swayze is / was divine !
Favourite comfort movies are wide and varied but some are...
Last holiday
Fighting temptations
First wives club
Pretty woman
Hidden figures
The Martian
Shawshank redemption
Green mile
Blind side
King's speech
Good will hunting
Patch Adams
Treasure planet
Brother bear
Favourite songs again too many to mention but...
Baz luhrmann - sunscreen
Mitchell Tenpenny - bucket list
Mitchell Tenpenny - here
David Niall - nights on fire
Cam - burning house
Scotty McCreery - the dash
Walk of the earth - hold on

My comfort movie is Horton hears a who, because I love that elephant 🐘
Comfort TV would be any of the David Attenborough documentaries 🌿 (I'm currently watching the new frozen planet II ❄️)
@SleepyShyCat
Hi we meet again haha actually I didn't realize it was you, internet cat, until I went to reply.
I love those documentaries!! His voice is so soothing. Have you seen Life in the Under growth? It's my fav of his!
@Mashedpotato364
At least I think it was you I was chatting w before. Sorry if not
@Mashedpotato364
Yes it was me don't worry 😆 if you look hard enough I pop up in several places across the forum. I always find it funny once you notice someone in the forum, you then start seeing them everywhere lol
And I've seen that yes, but a long time ago now :0
Im now currently watching his new series, Wild Isles. The first episode was great, waiting for Sunday for the next one 😸 funnily enough, all my cats have loved watching David Attenborough, they immediately come and watch when they hear his voice, idk why but its cute and they like the animals.
@SleepyShyCat
Haha ok good lol yes it is kind of funny in a hey you are here jumping all over the place too kind of way.
It's older, I know. Yet it still remains my favorite 😊 I really like insects. Do you have a fav of his?
Oh cool I haven't watched it yet. Oh my gosh that sounds adorable 😻 a while family event. My roommate's dog likes to watch certain things too. He likes cats dogs and horses but not really any other animals on screen.
@Mashedpotato364
Insects are cool. My favourite is between the green planet, and seven worlds one planet.
My nans cat loves Attenborough too for some reason, always watches his programs, but ignores everything else 😅 they all must know how much he loves animals and nature.

I used to watch movies a LOT more often. That partly changed due to growing up, and partly changed due to my taste shifting away from "dark" music and movies, which I don't really miss, although I do sometimes miss the feeling I would get as a child being totally enveloped in the experience of a movie. When I think deeply about it, I'd have to say my comfort movies are probably either the Lord of the Rings movies or else some kind of goofy comedy, like maybe Anchorman. Those never get old! Star Wars and Harry Potter, as well, will never lose their power to remind me of the good things in life.
@comfortableNight4463 I love oceans 8. i just love it. It’s brilliant!
@JustMeUwU I haven't watched it yet. I've heard so many good things about it. What do you love most about it?
