What is your 'comfort' movie?
A comfort movie has many different interpretations for different people.
Most commonly, Comfort movies are the ones that a person can turn to when they are having a bad day and need an escape from everything for a while. Basically, any movie that brings you comfort.
You can have many comfort movies. They also do not necessarily need to be movies, they can be TV shows as well.
What are some of your favorite comfort movies?

There's two TV series that I wait with baited breath to watch the next episode and season - Grey's Anatomy and Virgin River.
Now, for the movies...
John Q - What he did wasn't right but this one shows the deep love of a father for his son. Because I lost my dad when I was young, I tend to watch this one a lot because I believe my dad loved me this much...
October Sky - The family struggle resonates with me, love the part where the dad finally shows up and puts his arm around the young man's shoulders...
The Post - seeing an emotionally weak woman find her own strength to stand up for her own vision and be rewarded for it...
The Rookie - Wish I had a dad like that... love the last part where he greets his family, the whole town is there to watch his first game, and loved how he put the sassy one in place after he helped his son with his homework over the phone...
The 33 - (The movie about the trapped miners). I feel such relief when the capsule brought up the first man successfully...
The Man From Snowy River - and the second one too. Love the accent and the struggle between high and low country people being resolved. Beautiful scenery. And who couldn't love that cranky old miner...
Faith Under Fire - that woman was a true hero, not only for all the school children, but for the gunman she talked down. She proved that every day people can do extraordinary things...
One last one I'll mention is not a very happy movie but what I love about it is the friendship between two macho men being sensitive...the last scene with them just sitting together warms my heart... It's worth watching the whole movie, violence and all just to see the emotion build and settle in to this last scene...
Wind River
Yeah, I love movies. I watch them every day. Since covid put us in lock down, I've seen gazillions... There are many more I really like but these are the ones that cross my mind right now. Almost forgot! The first one I wanted to list was "A Walk in the Clouds." One of the only movies that puts me in a sweet spot all the way through. Keanu just hits it right in this one.
I had a therapist tell me once that watching movies when I was having deep anxiety, would help put me in a different place to give myself a break... This was better than doing harm to my body with other things. I don't mean this as posting any kind of therapy! Not my intention!! This comes from my life experience. This is what gives my heart and soul a break through trauma, depression & heartache...even got me through horrible panic attacks... Movies take me to my "happy place." Thank you so much for posting this question.
Mines not really a movie and I don’t want to sound like a weeb but, I really like to read/watch Monthly Girls nozaki kun, it’s a really funny show and it never fails to give me a good laugh, I really like the good vibes it carries
