From reading old forum threads, I know what a kind and supportive part of the community you've been, and it's nice to finally meet you. :) Thank you for sharing parts of your honors thesiswith us! It's a great read and I liked the compassionate yetneutral tone you wrote with;it made your thesiseasier for me to approach than other work I've read on the subject, so my reaction was less, 'That's not me,' and more, 'Hmm, maybe these images have affected me as well.' Talk about not "questioning why we conform," eh? And when I got to theSaltzberg and Chrislerquote, I was like, oh, oops ? I'd love to read your whole thesis.Thank you for returning and sharing something new with us!
What a sweet and amazing comment. Thank you so much! I'm really glad people are actually reading parts of my paper; I'm so surprised that it's been enjoyed by listeners here.
The way women are portrayed in the media and the amount of photoshopping on top of that is so harmful, and it's was a subject I wrote tons about in college.To be honest, I thought it was a terrible paper considering I wrote it in 2 nights. It was the only B I'd ever received and I didn't even complain about it.
@HiddenGrace you're so welcome. I also studied media, by the way.I ran my undergradthesis to my department at the second to last minute. The paperwas still warm from my printer, and wrinkly because I'd jammed it into a plastic clip while running;all thesesweresupposed to be bound, like, ya know, finished in advance. 
I was so close to the deadline, I froze for a split-second when I entered my department's building ? I had a make or break decision:STAIRS OR ELEVATOR?I'm proud of you for choosing to cap off your degree with anhonors thesis! That takes guts. Many of us neglect that option for whatever reason, and some of us regret not trying it. :) Kudos to you!
