Umm, also, guys, I know you all work very hard and want what is best, but could we take it a bit easy on the mass welcoming message sprees? Right now, there is a handful of people sending tons of messages, and the rest of us struggle to maintain our weekly goal...I'm not sayong "stop", I'm saying maybe not welcome 50 people at once
I totally hear you, @Sofia. However, it's kind of hard to know who will have time to send out welcome messages and when. Sometimes I log on in the morning, and there's 50+ people who haven't been welcome yet. So obviously no one had a chance to do it, and I've no idea when they will, so I'd rather send them a message, than wait and see if someone else does. Does that make sense? But maybe there's some better way to organize things? It's totally possible.
I get the reasoning @Barush, and I too log on when I wake up and see who has been welcomed and who has not, but due to timezones, there's noone left to be welcomed Perhaps a a middle solution and some patience could help...If for example there are 50+ people waiting, take half. Or we could have welcoming shifts, based on timezones. That could also help reduce the possibility of newcomers getting spammed with messages. We all just want to be able to join in the welcoming, and not have it look as though we are slacking, you know? (I speak for myself, but am fairly certain a few others might have the same thoughts).
Yeah, I know what you mean. Maybe you could suggest it to the higher ups, so to speak? Because I think that any sort of system would have to be "official" to work. @Sofia
Hi @Sofia!!I had read somewhere that we need to send around 3 messages to new listeners. This encourages them to interact with other listeners.I agree with @Barush. It happens sometimes that no one is has been welcomed at the time I log in.
I feel the we can send more than one message to a listener. The goal should be no one is left out. If You log in and see there is no new listener to welcome till the time you log out, you can send 10 new listeners a small version of welcome message.

How many welcome messages do you think the average listener is getting & how many do you think is a good number to receive?
Welcoming new listeners is central to what we do here, its a vital community program! You all are doing incredible & profound work to help build up our community. Thank you!!!
Hi @Lauras! The problem is not every one getting an equal number of listeners to welcome.
When I log in and see no one has been welcomed, I welcome all the new listeners that I see on the dashboard at that time.
However when another member, if they log in after I have sent my message, they have no one to welcome.
Yesterday, many listeners had been left out as I did not see their names neither in the August list nor in the September list.So I welcomed around 35 when I logged in. But later during the day I saw no one welcoming the new listeners.
We can either divide our work based on our time we log in or we can send a new listener more than one welcome message.
@LauraS after taking a day or to to observe better, I think the system in place is just fine. We are all going back to school and things will get busier, so many times it will be up to one of us to welcome lots of people. An extra message or two won't hurt, people will feel welcome and noticed. I take my previous post back! Thank you for all your hard work as well!!
