Just need a friend
Hi there, I'm a bit older than many of the threads that I've read. Although I was a super extrovert when I was younger, many things have changed in my life and currently I'm living in a country with my husband where I have no friends and sadly haven't grasped the language. It's been really tough trying to put myself out there, since I get the regular polite chats but no one ends up wanting to meet up with me afterwards. Everyone is at that age where they have their own circle of friends and they seem more closed off to expats. It's so exhausting now that I don't even bother making an effort, so I spend all of my time at home after work. Any one else feeling like this?
@enthusiasticYard6082 I know how you are feeling, I am in the same position except for living in the country lol. It is really hard trying to make friends now days and like you said they all have there own little clicks that they hang out with and most of the time when you reach out you get nothing back. even on social media its hard to make friends or even just to chat with someone. I am in my mid 30s and it is still a challenge so I do the same after work I come home and hang out with my dog.
