Question

Hi everyone, this is my first thread. Most of the time, I only read and never really joined any community. But here I am, finally spilling my thoughts.

I often question whether life will ever be worth it. All the pain and hard times we have to go through—will they ever truly bring us happiness?

The idea of life as mere “survival” feels so real, but I don’t think it’s worth anything. Sometimes I wonder, why can’t I just stop, if it only brings me nothing but pain?

My point is... I’m searching for answers. Why do I have to wake up tomorrow? Why do I have to be here? Right now, life just doesn’t feel worth it.

Then, from my experience, you are on right path. Many people don´t really search for answers, don´t search for truth. Who seeks, shall find. It can take a month, a decade. And you can go through various answers, but you will arrive. And I sincerely believe that your life starts from there... when you find answers to the questions of life.

Why am I here? What is the meaning of life, or is there any? What is the truth? Is there God? How can I be happy? What to live for? What happens after I die... etc.

It is quite typical and helpful to question life to sort out our thoughts and beliefs, and you're doing super well because:

A. You are facing the biggest obstacle to positive growth which is your own mind

B. You are reaching out on the largest mental health platform in the world

C. You are sharing your experience in a safe and healthy space

D. You are already growing in positive ways by joining communities and sharing

E. You have the capacity to use technology and express yourself, write and much more

F. You have shelter, clothes to wear, food to eat, water to drink and air to breathe

Yes all the terrible crap we must go through does bring us happiness, and also health and wealth because as you've shown us we learn and adapt to our circumstances.

Yes, the idea of survival can be very unhelpful. We can so easily feel stuck not seeing the forest through the trees. But we also overcome this through the exact steps you're taking.

We don't necessarily have to do anything. We are given our lives and the choice to just keep going or not and even when we are utterly down in the dumps there is hope as your beautiful post is proof of.

something interesting regarding those who believe and those who don't believe in God ! Very interesting. It stimulates our lateral thinking :

This lovely parable is from "Your Sacred Self" by Dr. Wayne Dyer.

In a mother’s womb were two babies. One asked the other: “Do you believe in life after delivery?”The other replied, “Why, of course. There has to be something after delivery. Maybe we are here to prepare ourselves for what we will be later.”

“Nonsense” said the first. “There is no life after delivery. What kind of life would that be?”

The second said, “I don’t know, but there will be more light than here. Maybe we will walk with our legs and eat from our mouths. Maybe we will have other senses that we can’t understand now.”

The first replied, “That is absurd. Walking is impossible. And eating with our mouths? Ridiculous! The umbilical cord supplies nutrition and everything we need. But the umbilical cord is so short. Life after delivery is to be logically excluded.”

The second insisted, “Well I think there is something and maybe it’s different than it is here. Maybe we won’t need this physical cord anymore.”

The first replied, “Nonsense. And moreover if there is life, then why has no one ever come back from there? Delivery is the end of life, and in the after-delivery there is nothing but darkness and silence and oblivion. It takes us nowhere.”

“Well, I don’t know,” said the second, “but certainly we will meet Mother and she will take care of us.”

The first replied “Mother? You actually believe in Mother? That’s laughable. If Mother exists then where is She now?”

The second said, “She is all around us. We are surrounded by her. We are of Her. It is in Her that we live. Without Her this world would not and could not exist.”

Said the first: “Well I don’t see Her, so it is only logical that She doesn’t exist.”

To which the second replied, “Sometimes, when you’re in silence and you focus and listen, you can perceive Her presence, and you can hear Her loving voice, calling down from above.”

I love this, it’s comforting specially if the reason we fear death is that it is so final. Just lights out and game over.

But for all we know we could be “delivered” from this “womb” that we’re all living in right now and step into a completely different world that we can’t even begin to comprehend in our current state, that doesn’t stop us from wondering though.

Hi Clayjoy, thank you for sharing this 💙 You’re not alone. Sometimes focusing on small steps (breathing, writing, getting some fresh air) can make the weight a little lighter. And if you want to talk more, we’ll be here for you 🌱

There's a day you will come to where you will say wow, I didn't know life could be this good! One thing that's helped me, try to change your life. Where you live, who you associate with, things you do, even school or work. Sometimes it's not life, but the situation, and we can't even see it- until we're out of it! I wish you the best of luck, and I can just promise you- life is worth it, for the good moments, that you will come across soon enough. I know the bad moments seem to last forever, but they don't. Take chances, take risks, make changes, and see where life takes you! And remember, you got this!

Yeah, I hope that day comes and I’ll notice it. Maybe it’s just me—maybe I don’t see the beauty in little things, ’cause everything feels tiring and I get annoyed too easily.

The struggle is what makes things worth it. If everything came easy it wouldn't leave you satisfied after a while. We're designed to overcome. As difficult as it can be in the moments of hardship. Those moments are moments you count towards your character. What you use to build the "you" not only you deserve but this world also deserves and really needs. You are a part of your own journey and figuring it out like where youre going and what you're even searching for is the great mystery that we can't answer for each other. We can only support each others journey to reach for the things that make life beautiful for you. It's lonely but such a party at the same time. We're here for you to tell you that you can do it. We all know we have the powr in us and losing your hope is a natural part of the process and that's really all we can offer is some of our hope that one day the personal beauty of your world will meet your gaze and I just think that's the most special thing to cheer someone on for.

So kind words might seem kind of unhelpful in the moment but when you can say them to yourself too and really mean it it can just make you comfortable making mistakes and feeling down sometimes. Being human. It's okay. None of us know what were doing and why. We make our reasons with what we hold close and that carries us through. Sometimes searching for answers can exhaust you and it's nice to realize. it's okay not to have the answers. It's okay to not know. It's okay to feel confused and question things. It's okay. Share yourself with people and maybe you'll find some answers in them. Our voices are meant be shared. It's a way to adapt and make sense of this whole crazy thing. It's scary but it's full of wonder. It's so darn beautiful Pain included.

Theres a lot in this world that is drop dead beautiful. What is to me may not be to you but if anything you are beautiful. Always Cliche but oh so true. Share it with people. You may help someone find an answer THEYVE been looking for. It's almost guaranteed.

Bestest of wishes. 😌

I’ve thought the same before. Honestly, the only reason I stayed was because my religion gives me a higher purpose. That’s the real answer for me. If I’m here, then I’ve got to start appreciating the little things.

Life isn’t just pain all the time. There are moments that make it worth it — like laughing with someone and being a complete imbecile, seeing someone you love and finally dropping your shoulders and feeling like you can breathe again, trying new things, exploring. It all feels better when you can share it with someone else.

Even if you don’t have that right now, it doesn’t mean you never will. You’ll find your people.

Everything might suck right now, but there are still things you haven’t lived or felt — and versions of yourself you haven’t met yet.

Hi Clayjoy!

“Why you’re here” is such a beautiful question.

You could be here to just eat the food, drink the water and breathe the air and do just that.

You could take over the world. You could watch it burn. You could plant the trees that will sustain it or you could cut them down.

It’s commendable that you are looking for answers, I do not have them but I will tell you that being alive will feel like a gift when the sun shines after a long winter and it will feel like a curse when the nights are cold and long.

A good dive into Philosophy is always a nice place to start and give your mind a place to play and think.
