Hi obviously I’m new. I’m looking for some type of support and I don’t know where to turn. My life has been filled with traumatic events and I’m in recovery but I feel well just lost and alone I’ve been in therapy and my therapist is amazing but she can’t be my only support system anymore it’s just not fair.

I don’t feel understood amd I can’t trust anyone with my true feelings for many different reasons beyond being burned by so many friends and I feel like I’ve exhausted everyone around me so I’m isolating and honestly I feel like nobody cares

I’ve been down this road many times, this depressive one but never felt this alone.

I lost my 2 year old son Luke years back and I have just never been the same. I’ve come very far from where I was VERY far but then sometimes I just get so triggered I feel like I lost all the progress I’ve done on myself.

The problem is I don’t know anymore what to do I’m at a loss and I feels like all the steps in recovery have just been cancelled out with feelings of defeat lately. I know this too shall pass as it did in the past but idk.

(It’s taking all my nerve right now to not delete this and just move on

@Neen1107 Hey :) I'm so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine how difficult it must have been to lose your son at such a young age. It's not something you would get over and I think alot of times when it comes to trauma people think it goes away after awhile but it's not that simple. We can be doing good - really good and then suddenly we're back almost to where we started. It doesn't mean we've lost the progress we've made - healing isn't linear. We take steps forward and steps backwards. Sometimes it might feel as though we're standing still and getting no where. It feels like it takes forever to

process things
I'm glad you didn't delete your post - I know how scary it can be to share things - even here. There's all kinds of support you can try. Listeners and chat rooms and of course the forums. You don't have to struggle alone ❤️

@Neen1107
It’s understandable to feel lost and isolated with losing someone so close to you, but you're not alone in those feelings and there is a whole community here alongside you who can support you.

It’s so positive for you to be engaging in therapy and identifying what you want to be different - coming here and making this post is something you should be proud of yourself for!

Mytwistedsoul is right, it’s a journey and you’ve done amazing to come this far. It can be really hard to open up, and you’ve taken a huge, brave, step today. We care, and we’re here to listen ☺️

First and foremost⟡ I’m just here admiring you for hitting submit on this post. I know that feeling. You type it all out— it feels like it’s being released and then our internal wall pops up like “too vulnerable, bro, just stop.. nobody cares.”

But, we do. We care. And I’m glad that you’re expanding your support network— super crucial! Not because it’s unfair to only have one person— but because you deserve so much support you won’t know what to do with it besides know you’re cared about and looked after.

I know it can feel like regression or backsliding… that all your efforts seem like they were in vain, but that’s not so. All your efforts to grow and heal are still here with you and all the progress you’d made is still existing in this moment making a difference, even during these difficult times, especially during these difficult times. Maybe that’s why you reached out here and not only wrote an authentic share… but submitted it too. That’s what growth and healing looks like when times become challenging and heavy— which they do, and will— it’s inevitable.. but who you are in this moment took matters into her own hands and that’s courage. You are brave as heck, Neen.

You are always welcome to reach out anytime.

Thank you so much I appreciate that. I keep thinking every day is a new day and it will be better but this time feels like it’s not coming to a close
