What is your favourite film to watch when feeling down?

I personally like to get my mind off things and watch a film or read a book. For me, I like watching the old disney films, for example, my current favorites are The Huncback of Notre Dame & The Little Mermaid & Mulan. I especially love the mesmerising music. It lifts me up instantly and makes me feel I'm in a different world.

What about you?

@Actuallynobody017 I love those books...and the movies. I remember when I first discovered the books. I bought them all and stayed up all night reading all of them in one weekend. I was exhausted by the end but happy.

@MayaCloud Omg, I love The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Frollo is such a unquie villian!

@IAMNOTTRAINEDFORTHIS Yes, exactly! Me too! Actually, Frollo is why I love watching the film over and over. I love the creative portrayal of the evil side through this character. For example, in the song 'hellfire,' the lyrics are self-explanatory especially when he says "it's not my fault if in god's plan, he made the devil so much stronger than the man." I keep reflecting on that a lot and realised that much of our helplessness and misery stem from us not taking the initiative and not taking the responsibility of our actions.

Plus, for some reason, I love Frollo's voice a lot--and the accent is very interesting. I think he has the same accent that Rapunzel's mother has. I don't know why evil characters always speak in either an American accent with a Posh, British underlying feeling, or in a pure British accent.

This is also very random, but every time I watch the film I keep waiting for that moment when Frollo says to Pheobus, showing disapproval of Esmeralda's dancing, "look at this dispicable scenery," and Pheobus says "yes, sir!" That always makes me laugh so hard 😅😂😂

@TheAutumnWitch - First I LOVE your screen name!

Second, I was raised on musicals so My Fair Lady is a favorite of mine as well. Also, love The Sound of Music. Have you ever seen Fiddler on the Roof? The King and I starring Yul Brynner and Deborah Kerr? And who could forget White Christmas?

@peaceandblessings Ah pride & prejudice used to be alright with me until I read the novel, only then I fell in love with the film even more, even though the reading experience is better, but still the beautiful scenes in the film are so illustrious and enchanting, I personally find it very soothing, thank you for sharing!
