How do you deal with people on "the dark triad"?
I understand that the internet is a vulnerable place as it's easy to hide while doing lots of psychological/psychical damage to others. That said, what measures do you take against people on "the dark triad" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_triad)?
- I have experienced a listener trying to put me into a trauma/PTSD by using psychological tricks. I had a hard time connecting to 7cups to get this beast of a person's account removed.
- I'm on a chat group (35+) where everyone can just come in, which I'd applaud but there is no direct modding 24/7 to keep the room safe. And some doubtful things have occurred. One person has been banned 3 times and allegedly has been stalking someone and trying to give someone a bad name (I passed this on to a mod/group supporter.). Also, to be honest I don't know who or what to believe, it's a psychological jungle in this chat group.
I just want to log on when I can and know I'm in a safe place on 7cups.
As far as I know there are no special measures we can take based on people's personality traits. We have a Personality Disorders Support community to support people who have personality disorders and, I believe, for others affected indirectly.
You did the right thing reporting that listener who tried to cause you harm. Anyone who has difficulty reporting a listener for any reason can write to community@7cups.com from the address they use to log in to 7 Cups. It is OK to name the listener in the e-mail, but not in these forums or anywhere else. When possible, screenshots are helpful to clarify the issue, but again only in the e-mail.
I know very little about the chatrooms. I avoid them as a result of some bad experiences when I first joined. I have seen recurring reports over the years indicating that the chatrooms are still not always as safe as they could be. Unfortunately there seems to have been little constructive discussion in the community about what can be done. I only hope that perhaps others know of secret plans I am unaware of—wishful thinking, I know.
I agree with you that having rooms open to all is to be applauded, and I also agree that moderator presence at all times seems sensible.

Thanks for sharing Charlie. We sure need a safe online environment so we can share things without having harmful people take advantage of it.
