Hi. So I know that language is not allowed on the forums, but what about in conversations with listeners? Is it fine then? Ofc I mean general swear words, not slurs or anything else that could be harmful

@queerartsyweeb

Hello, I think this is an incredibly important question, thank you for double checking! Just like in forums, you are not allowed to use curse words in chats with listeners or in group chats, they automatically get censored when in the chat heart

@queerartsyweeb I'm not sure what you meant when you wrote, "language is not allowed on the forums".

In the Forum Guidelines, Rule 5 is about language:

5. Excessive Inappropriate or Graphic Language is not allowed, including cursing in thread titles, cursing at others, and cursing in excess within a post. Trigger warnings should be included in thread titles or beginning of body content where appropriate.

So, to be clear, any kind of language is allowed in forum posts as long as it's not excessive, and as long as it is within the other forum guidelines.

In conversations with listeners it depends on the listener, to some extent. Some listeners might ask you to moderate your language. Some listeners might block you if you swear. Some listeners don't care. Personally, I don't care.

There's also a weird automatic chat censor that removes some English and Hindi swear words while allowing others. Technically, the chat censor allows you to swear as much as you want, but you'll have to change some spellings. For example, in a chat you can't mention shit but you can say shiiiiiiiiiiiiiittttttttttt!!!!!!! The only risk is that you might upset the listener.
