Questions about 7Cups therapy
Hello everyone!
Id love to get therapy, and Id like to connect with the therapists here on this site. However, I'm unsure about some things. Can somebody who has tried it out help me with some questions?
1. How much does therapy cost? I'm still a minor with rather unaccepting parents regarding mental health problems, so Id need to pay for the therapy myself, and I'd like to know if it's affordable for me. Also, when/in what intervals would I be paying? I'd rather not give away my credit card info before I know about this.
2. In what languages is therapy offered? I'm more or less fluent in English, but I'd be happy if I could chat in my native language.
3. Is there an option to change therapists if I'm unhappy with the one assigned for me for some reason?
4. Is there a way to cancel therapy if I realize it's not helpful for me? Or is it a monthly subscription where I'm "stuck" for a few months?
If anybody could answer my questions, Id be very glad!
@slytherpuff5 1. As far as I know, therapy at 7 Cups is only available for adults. There are other places on the Internet where teens can get therapy, but I believe parents would have to make the arrangements. Some of the therapists at 7 Cups do work with teens in real life, and you could try contacting them directly, but I think they will probably want your parents to be involved.
2. Any language you and the therapist are both fluent in.
3. At 7 Cups you can change once, I believe. In real life you can change as many times as you like.
4. At 7 Cups you pay a month in advance, I believe, with no refunds.
If you'd ever like to chat to me about all this, just click on my profile picture and message me.

@RarelyCharlie Thanks for your answers!
If 7Cups therapy is only available for adults, I think I will need to find another website for this. Or Ill just wait a few month until Im finally of age and can get therapy even if my parents are against it. Thanks for explaining!
@slytherpuff5
good luck with your therapy! Also, if you ever need it, I have found that some listeners are just as good as my own real life therapist. And you can get that for free, and change anytime if your listener isn't quite what you'd hoped.

Since you're going to be of age in a few months, I think I can help you answer Question 1 too :)

You get a 3-days free trial for the FIRST time you try therapy. You have to give them your credit card information in advance in order to be enrolled in this free trial, but remember the TIME to sign up so you can cancel before the 72 hours period comes to an end, otherwise you will be immediately charged $150 for one month.
DO NOT BEGIN YOUR FREE TRIAL PERIOD ON A THURSDAY, FRIDAY, SARTURDAY, OR SUNDAY. I've talked to 4 or 5 therapists. None of them works on the weekend. If you free trial period overlaps with the weekend, you just lose those days. I've made that mistake.
For the $150, you're free to message any time. The therapist will reply to you once or twice per day (they usually write long messages). Some of them reply once every day, some of them twice every day. There's another option of paying $50 and the therapist replies once per week. I think the second option is not really valuable.
I would suggest you browse the therapists list just as you would browse for a listener, and determine a few you'd like to work with based on their specialties, profile, and the reviews for them. Make your own pick. Don't let the bot pick for you, because therapy can be a hit or miss too.
@gregariousAcai1247 I don't think the 3 day trial exists anymore.
@gregariousAcai1247 Hi! I came across a member that really requires help and therapy but can't afford it. Is there any way the therapists might be able to offer free services, even for a month or so? Do you have a suggestion on what I might be able to help this person?
@SeaAnemone77 I don't think it is possible at all on 7cups :O. The best we can hope for free service is a really good listener... :/
@gregariousAcai1247 that is unfortunate :( it would have been great if there were a few professional therapists available who volunteered free services in not all, but some important situations that could be reviewed and accepted. Do you think something like that can be arranged in 7 cups in the future?
@SeaAnemone77 In some places there are charities that provide free or very cheap professional therapy. Searching the Internet or asking a local doctor who has been in the area for a long time might be good ways to discover them.
Also, a few individual therapists might charge lower rates to certain clients in real life than they do through 7 Cups. A good way to discover them might be to ask some local therapists whether they do that, and if they don't, whether they happen to know any therapist who does.
There are a few free therapy websites that are designed by professionals and go much further than our self-help guides at 7 Cups. The two I happen to know are Living Life to the Full in Scotland, and Mood Gym in Australia. As far as I know they are both available for anyone in the world to use.

☆ the average package is $150 a month, or their $50.00 package. Within the app you can view other options.
2. In what languages is therapy offered? I'm
more or less fluent in English, but I'd be

☆There are several languages, but that does not guarantee your language is available. Thought you may try and translate with a translator before hand.
3. Is there an option to change therapists if
I'm unhappy with the one assigned for me
for some reason?
☆Yes, you feeling comfortable and safe is always your choice, there are thousands of options. This is for you, we all only want the best fit for you.
4. Is there a way to cancel therapy if I
realize it's not helpful for me? Or is it a

☆ Of course, your satisfaction is top priority, if you're not happy or feel the need to cancel, feel free too. Though I do believe you'll need to cancel 15 days befor the next payment is due. Please refer to the contract stipulations.
If anybody could answer my questions, Id
be very glad!
I wish you a positive journey and the strength to keep your head up as you walk through the storms of life.
I am proud of the courage you took to reach out and hope to hear from you again. ♡
