Discussion Question: Is a problem still a problem if you don't think it's a problem?
It depends. If it doesn't bother you and it is doing no harm to yourself or others, then no it isn't.
But just because you aren't bothered by something doesn't mean you aren't harming, or bothering someone else that you may care about.
Trust those that care about you. Many times, if they believe it is a problem and are encouraging you to get help, you should at least get whatever it is looked at.
Yes, I think I problem is always a problem. Even if you do not perceive the problem or just ignore it doesn't not mean the problem is solved or has disappeared. It just remains unsettled.
Yes; it may not be a problem to you but to some around you it may be.
Sometimes people don't realise things are problems until someone else notices e.g. an addiction. However, if you have thought about something you thought was big but then put it in perspective then it becomes a smaller problem and is probably not that important. It depends on the circumstance and what the problem actually is.
@Laura It can possibly be. If something is affecting a part of life in a negative way it can be a problem, even if we don't think it is a problem,
A problem is a problem is a problem. I believe, however, once you idenfity the root of the issue, you can take steps towards making things better!
Yes. For me I think a problem is still a problem when I don't think it is because I'm lying to myself. I don't think I have any issues with my eating...because it feels right to me...but compared to others, I know I have a problem. I lie to myself saying it's not a problem, when in fact in the back of my head I know it is.
I belive that it is. Over times these problems can get worse even if you don't think it's a problem so as soon as you see a problem it's important to try and get it fixed.
A bit like a mechine, if it has a problem and does not get fixed, it wil get worse until it finally breaks, so to prevent it from breaking you get it fixed.
