My mom and sister yell at me for "using my disability as an excuse to not comprehend something" and "using my short term memory damage as an excuse to get out of doing chores by claiming that I forgot to do them".

I feel most misunderstood when I dissociate and become like someone else. I'm not always aware this is happening so I think I'm 6 but I look like a 45 yr old woman. I can't understand why other people can't see who I am at that moment and see I'm only a small child

I feel most misunderstood most of the time. Usually when I open my mouth or sometimes even enter a room. I'm not sure if it's my body language or my words or both but I seem to drive people away and I can't figure out why.

I feel misunderstood when:

- I'm having a panic or anxiety attack and people ask me why, or tell me to calm down. And when I say "I can't" I think they think I mean "I don't want to". But I literally can't, I need to take myself out of the situation and let it drag out.

- When my friends ask me to come out and I don't want to make excuses, so I tell them the truth, "I'm too tired to" or "I'm not in the mood". They think I don't want to see them but that's not it, I literally feel too emotionally drained to go out the house or to socialise.

- When (mainly in social situations) I say I can't do something, e.g, I can't ask them for help. Again people think I mean I don't want to, but I literally can't! The only way to explain it is that there is an invisible wall or mind block right in front of me and the words or actions will not come out because of this wall. And sometimes it upsets me so much because this limits the things I can do and there's so many opportunities I have missed for this reason.

I feel most misunderstood when I think about the world around me. I try to talk about how I'm feeling but I can never get it out right so I feel that people don't understand me. The way I view everything, feel about myself..

People don't understand that you cant contol anxiety and depression and you may not even know why you feel sad or anxious.
