I feel the most misunderstood when.... [finish this sentence]
People think I'm lying for silly reasons
@ShadlokVance
yes! been there, experienced that, totally lowered my whole opinion of that person in my life.
I feel most misunderstood when people ask if I'm afraid that my boyfriend might die. He is in the military... With what he does, it is a constant fear. I feel misunderstood because it seems to be the only thing people see in my relationship... That he could die. Not that we are happy. Not that I have met his mother or he met mine. Not that he risks getting in trouble to give me a thirty second phone call. Not the late night I miss him and am so proud while he's training to protect every one of us. They only see a possible death. They don't see our love.
@passionateBeing6922 I understand how you feel. I also constantly worry about my boyfriend when he is going to work too and always pray for his safety :( stay strong you can do it and continue believing in your relationship with him even if no one else does, cos what matters is the love between you both the most :) wishing you strength and good blessings in your life ❤️
@Yuuzaki
I know that it's been a little since you posted to mine, but here I am replying.
Trust me, I will not let this relationship go. Our love is the kind that makes all the hate seem like smoke, easy to walk through. He is actually underway, preparing the ship for deployment, so, I barely hear from him. It's been about two weeks now and I've heard from only a handful of times. Each time is great and painful. Makes me love him more, but miss him more.
On a much much lighter note.... He brought up marriage. So... I am engaged!!!!
I feel most misunderstood when people try to put my word or actions "into perspective" based off of things like my race or the fact that I'm an only child instead of asking me what I actually mean. Instead of trying to understand why I am different and not throwing me back because they don't want to take the time to understand me...I feel like this most every time I open my mouth and even more so when I don't and people assume the worse of my silence. I always feel alone because no one understands me and most people don't really take the time to listen to what I say or even ask the simple questions.,,
My family thinks I'm just being moody again
I feel the most misunderstood when my closest friends and family just thinks I'm being unreasonable, in my usual bad moods, overly emotional and too sensitive. That I'm just being my usual emotional self and not believing there is something more to it than they see even when I talked about dying...and after being diagnosed with BPD, everyone just goes on with their daily lives and they find it hard to fully understand when I talk about my emotions...cos it's just so hard to express everything out and I become confused too. In the end, I just feel more lonely than before.
I feel the most misunderstood, when people act like I'm mentally ill for attention. I hate it so much when people tell me how much of a special snowflake I am when I can't get out of my bed in the morning. It makes me very angry to say the least.
My parents treat me like I
when so called proffessionals misinterpret my pdd-nos-triggered behaviour for borderline personality disorder. this happened tooooo much and has damaged me to the core...
When my family assume how I feel or assume the reasons for how I act instead of actually asking me or talking to me. And then go ballistic at how "terrible" I apparently am based on what they assume my actions mean.
I feel like such a black sheep to them. Like everything I try to do is wrong. I feel like I'm too much trouble than I'm worth. I feel like such a huge burden to them. I feel like my dad tried so hard to get rid of me so he wouldnt be responsible for sending me to school and spending money. And now I think my grandparents are trying to get rid of me too. Just because they didnt like and agree with a decision I made.
I wonder, would they treat me differently if they knew that there's not a day that goes by that I don't think of killing myself.
@GlassLocks I used to feel that way too. They openly hated me but didn't want me to get out of their control either. Non of my parents were willing to pay rent or put me through school, but when I grew up succeeded in one thing, all of a sudden many people are queuing up to assume the role of parents (biological or adopted). if you hang in there and find something you enjoy and do well, the time will come when you can pick and choose who you allow to be in your life.
people dismiss my feelings about my abusive family as bad attitude and negativity.
